Picked up a couple of pistols this month...
Got an ATI FX45 (the USGI model) for my son, since he did well in summer semester (and so he'd leave my 1911's alone );
and then jumped on the Beretta 81 wave, got a pristine example for myself.
I'll edit to add pictures in a little while...

GSG 1911 22. Looks and feels like a Government Model but shooting .22s there is no recoil.
This gun screams for upgrades. You can take it as far as you like or leave it stock and you will have fun. I'm the kind of guy that likes to tinker so mine right now is modified a bit. There's a long way to go and I'm not sure I want to do it so I'm having fun with it as is.

I just got this yesterday.
Hornet Custom Red Baron 2.75 Match Grade Trigger Assembly
Ruger 10/22 Hornet Custom RED BARON 2.75 Match Grade Trigger Assembly + OTTO | eBay
This is an impressive trigger! It averages 2 pounds 9 oz. on my Lyman Electronic Trigger Pull Scale and has no creep! Wonderful!

The perfect addition to my MAGPUL Hunter Stocked 10-22.

Taylor Tactical Supply makes an adaptor so you can add a compensator. It comes with the comp for $49.95
The barrel is already pre threaded in case you want to add a suppressor. CWAccessories also makes a compensator kit.

I had been waiting for the Shield 2.0 PC 9mm 4" since I first saw a photo of one. A while back, I bought a G48. I liked it well enough, but I wanted a red dot to play with and I couldn't see going to the additional expense of having the slide milled and then paying for the red dot. I was able to get the Shield through a local gun dealer at a reasonable (less than MSRP) price. I traded in the G48 and a little more and got the Shield. I'm very impressed with this little gun. It's accurate and has a great trigger. It's also small enough to conceal anywhere you can conceal any similar single stack pistol.

I made some buys,a UPLULA Universal pistol mag loader for those hard springs 365 magazines. I also picked up a Concealment Express holster to CC my Sig P365. I thought i'd try something other then leather.

My cousin invited me to do some duck hunting this coming January in the Eastern shore of Maryland and since I “stopped” waterfowl hunting back in 2014-15 (just too busy), I’d sold my Benelli SBE II. Figured I needed some type of waterfowl gun that wasn’t some pricey, fancy 3.5” auto loader so I found an older (2000) Rem 870 Express Mag that looks to have been camo’d professionally and picked it up for $250 OTD.

Have a Delta Point Pro in the local post office now on Labor Day waiting to get tomorrow. Going to mount on my LMT .224 val with a Leupold 45 deg offset mount for a backup to my VX 3i 3.5x10x40. Yea, I know Leupolds don't fail, but being CA I want to make it even more evil. Have a set of Magpul offsets on the other side. Will post pics when it's set up.
Am I smitten by some kind of bug?

My Dan Wesson model 22, 40 yrs young. I had to take a last-minute business trip down to Austin on Thursday & checked TexasGunTrader the evening before and found this, which I've been looking for locally for over 2 years. Oh, the business meeting was successful too, LOL.

I just put a deposit down on this Colt Detective Special for $440 USD / $650 AUD out the door. Now I've got to put in the Permit to Acquire form to the New South Wales Police Firearms Registry, wait who knows how many weeks, and finally get to go pick it up.

Looks like you got a good price on that gun. I'm surprised that LEO has to wait the same as other gun buyers in Australia.

I picked this Beretta M81 a couple of days ago. The enablers on this Forum caused it. Made me so mad!!!
Actually, enablers caused this just a couple of weeks ago:
M5906
Nobody here enabled my purchase of another Bushmaster AR (no photo available - yet). But I am blaming them, anwya, because I don't want to blame myself!

My latest is a Ruger LC9S, nothing special about it yet. The slide has been sent to Turnbull for case color hardening. I'll post pics when it comes back.

Smith & Wesson .32 Hand Ejector Third Model, in nickel. Stopped by the LGS to ask about the owner’s health, and $200 OTD later, all mine. Small chip on the bottom of the left stock. Mechanics are solid. Very good day . . .

ANIB (almost) 6946 DAO. Came with two standard capacity (12 round) magazines, box, and manual.
My first range trip with it. 50 rounds of 147gr FMJ. Once I got used to the DAO trigger pull, it was pretty accurate.

About 25 feet. The range is mostly a rifle range, but they dedicate three lanes to pistol. I can't shoot closer, although I 'd like to.

Had to jump on this after I felt its trigger, Ruger GP100 357 4". Some smiff expertly replicated the feel and action of a Colt Python trigger so I had to snatch her up. The previous owner also upgraded the sights and added the Altamont grip panels.

I am usually a colt guy when it comes to ARs, but I diversified with this Springfield Saint in .308.......visiting a friend in California so I ordered the California compliant version so there are no hassles when I head out his way to help eradicate some pigs on his land. No point in tempting fate by taking my colt 901 with me that does not comply with their stupid rules. Their rules require the paddle grip and the adjustable stock pinned in a fixed position, things that will be reversed when I return home from the occupied state.

I've heard those are good guns and built out of strong steel from rail road tracks. I know some competitive shooters have taken these and modded them for competition shooting.

I picked up a used German Sig P220 chambered in .45 ACP. The case it sold with is labeled "Law Enforcement". I can't verify if it truly is or is not a LE program firearm. From the parts included in the case, I do know it was converted from DAK to DA/SA. The Sig night sights are dead. Three mags total. It had Hogue grips on it, with the original hard plastic Sig grips in the case. No manual or paperwork. I gave it a quick inspection, lubed it, and took it straight to the range. 100 rounds downrange without issue. Out of caution, I'm ordering a new recoil spring for it.
I'd post a picture, but I'll have to find a picture hosting site first.

Hopefully not. Those old raillroad tracks were made of iron, not steel.

Untrue. RR tracks are typically made of hot rolled 1084.

Actually, it depends upon just when said rails were made.
'Older' rails were iron. Extensive testing and side-by-side wear comparisons revealed steel to be much more durable (IIRC about 15 times so), and the industry converted to steel for making railroad rails. That all was in a state of evolution around the end of the U.S. Civil War, the mid to late 1860's.
This is going on memory from what the boys in the rail mill at Bethlehem Steel taught me back in the 1970's. I knew my short steel-making career would be of some value someday, and 50 years later maybe it is lol. I do not suspect any iron rails exist today.....
Of course I stand to be corrected by someone that really knows something about the difference in chemical composition between iron, pig iron, and steel......

I might be wrong. But was under the impression that China recycled old railroad tracks.
