I just ordered a California Highway Patrol S&W 4006 TSW from CDNN Sports. I've wanted one of these since they first hit the market 3 years ago, but was always short on cash whenever they popped up, and they always seemed to dry up everywhere the moment I had the necessary funds, so I always ended up getting something else instead. Eventually I just sort of gave up on getting one, until today when I saw a thread about how CDNN had gotten some in, so I jumped on it immediately.

A special limited edition police-trade-in S&W 3rd Gen Semiauto for $399 is an absurd value, probably the best one I've ever personally been able to capitalize on.

They are very cool pistols. I snagged mine 3 years ago. Hope you get a nice one!

By all accounts, I ought to. CDNN has them listed as being in Good to Very Good condition, but so far most folks who bought one from them say they're practically Like New with a bit of holster wear that buffs right out.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if I end up with one that's well-worn, as that's just part of the mystique of a police trade-in.

Do they have the "Tacticool Billbord" engraving? And if so, will that buff out? Not a fan...

They have the "billboard" but it's laser-etched and from what I hear, will actually come off from holster wear alone, if not buffed off in short order with a 3M Pad.

Personally, I like it when the slide has a so-called billboard on them, because that's what makes them distinctive. Seriously, nowadays you see a lot of 1911s on the market without much on the slide, but thanks to that, you can polish up a Taurus PT1911 and it looks no different from a high dollar 1911 like a Kimber or a Dan Wesson.
So yeah, I honestly wish that the billboard were engraved into the slide so that it wouldn't come off so easily.

Loving short barrels, what else but a Model 69. There is just something about snubby large bores that shoot well ! ! First five out of the box are slightly low, a little adjustment and just where they should be.

Does this count?
There is a lake about 60 miles from my house where I camp, fish, and hunt. I went exploring to the north end where I hardly ever go. I heard shooting and went to investigate. Saw a gravel driveway with a sign that said "XXX gun club". I went in and introduced myself. The nice man there said I could join for $25/year so I did. I now belong to a total of three gun clubs.

Absolutely. Nice deep indentations on primers after the first 200 rounds with two different brands. I'll put another several hundred through it (and enjoy doing it) before I trust it.

Most recent thing is a pair of Ruger bisley grip made out of Dall sheep horn by the late Roy Fishpaw. No gun for them yet but that is okay.

Just received a Vortex 2x7-32 scope for my Ruger American 22 magnum from Optics Planet. Cost was $129. Great glass by the way. Reviews are very positive. Got some shootin to do by Friday.

I did the BGC paperwork and put half down on this 1917 commercial that has been cut down to 4-1/2" and refinished.
Not exactly a beauty queen, but a fair condition shooter in 45acp for $350 is hard to pass up.

I just got home with my 4006TSW CHP. Much to my satisfaction, it does indeed have a bit of external wear, most notably on the rail, which leads me to believe that this particular 4006TSW was fitted with a flashlight or laser. (Which is odd considering that from what I've heard, the CHP didn't carry their 4006s with any mounted accessories.)

4006TSW-20200515_145508-jpg
4006TSW-20200515_145751-jpg

However, internally it's like new, with no appreciable signs of wear, so this gun was likely carried often, but shot very little. The bore is absolutely pristine, is the guide rod, the inside of the slide, and the rails. The BB finish is still about 99% completely intact internally, so I doubt that the gun was even so much as even cleared on a regular basis.

Sweet!! I like the grip. The texture is different than mine.

They're Hogue rubber grips. I bought the gun from CDNN Sports, and they sell all of them with brand new Hogue rubber grips, presumably because the original grips were either damaged or otherwise completely absent from whatever lot they came from.

Generally I'm not a fan of rubber grips, but these ones are surprisingly nice.

The grip on mine was nearly worn smooth on one side. I presumed seatbelt wear. I replaced it with new OEM. Only about $20 IIRC. I love shooting the thing.

.38 Super upper for my Witness. It is now a 3-caliber pistol: .45 ACP, .22 LR and .38 Super. I kind of like the pinto effect of the Wonderfinish slide and the blued receiver. Only got to shoot it once before the ranges closed down.

Impulse buy yesterday. XD9 4" service model, stainless slide, 3 mags, case paperwork. $329. That's not a bad price around here.

Well, still buying beer quarantine stuff. I was looking for a holster for my 3" 60-10. I wasn't having any luck. I didn't want a concealment holster as I have 2" J frames for that. A 640 fills that roll pretty well. Well I found something on Fleabay I liked. Listed as a vintage Triple K brand half flap holster for a 3" J frame. Well I ordered it and it arrived quickly. I think I paid too much at $50 but oh well. On the back the holster says Triple K San Diego 75 3 followed by a dash with another 3 underneath that. But no fitskies! Granted it's vintage and I'm trying to stuff a 60-10 357 in it. But I tried my 60 no dash and it didn't fit either. Well it looked close enough so I took off the rear sight, cut some wood for stretching and ran hot water over the parts of the holster that I wanted to alter. I then stuffed the gun in as far as it would go and then forcefully wedged the wood in where it needed to go and let it dry. It took several episodes but it now fits perfectly and is IMHO a perfect little field holster. I was out working in the woods today carrying it with 2 snake shot followed by 3 HPs. I think aesthetically I need some wood grips if I could find any that looked correct with the holster. Although, they'd need to be capable of taking a little abuse.

Nice! I've owned a Taurus Judge Magnum for the past 3 years or so and love it, as do most people who have shot one and can handle the recoil. It's a blast at the range, (double-entendre intended) and with the right ammo (basically anything that was actually designed with the Judge in mind) it can be a good nightstand gun.

Last but not least, the Judge has an extra special feature, and that's driving Armchair Commandos, Mall Ninjas, Wannabe Operators, and self-proclaimed folks who are "serious about firearms" into a hissy fit at the mere mention of it.

With a certain segment of the gun buying population that "special feature" is standard equipment for all Taurus firearms.

I have resisted and stayed away from this thread but the siren’s call of this one was too much to resist. The new Ruger foldable stock for my mini.

A 3.5 il. trigger to replace the stock 8 lb. (and that's being generous) on my DPMS .308. What a difference!

4.25 inch 2020 Colt Python.Like it so far after a couple hundred rounds.Fit and finsh are good, the only negative if the extremely poorly designed rear sight.Hopefully someone will come up with a replacement soon.
