More about "what did I finish" today.
Finished this P80 Glock 35 build. .40 and .357SIG. Learned a lot about how Glocks work! Plus it's a hoot to shoot and feels better in the hand than a factory frame.
Put eBay-found Ahrends on my K-38. The original magnas + Tyler T-Grip were nice, but I kind of wanted something different.

A few of the more recent additions to my collection:
S&W Model 28-2, added October 2020, she's just back from S&W service for timing and action issues. 1969 year of manufacture, she sports a 6" barrel, target trigger, target hammer, and originally shipped with magna stocks, but came to me with awful condition Pachmayr Presentation grips, which I swapped out for later production (1995?) Factory target grips. The blue box is original to this revolver.
NOS S&W model 90 Handcuffs - picked up around the same time as the 28-2 I think I posted about these here before, just a neat collectible, and made around the end of the 60s or early 70s.
2020 Colt Python, added December 2020; 4" Barrel, a good shooter, but nothing like a good S&W Revolver. Considering listing it for sale.
S&W 15-3, added 02/28; 4" barrel, made in 1973. Sports a target trigger, target hammer, and most likely non-original magna stocks. Stocks feature a different number, coincidentally the digits make up the zip code for Somers, CT which is just a stone's throw from me, and one town or so over the border from the S&W factory. It does have me wondering... Quite a bit of holster wear on this old gal, but the bore and chambers are immaculate.

I added another 1911-22 Conversion Unit to my collection. This one is a CWA (Chet Whistle Accessories) and is based on the GSG 1911-22. Its mounted to my worked over Norinco M1911-A1 lower.

Thought I'd try the Vortex because of the Raving Reviews they
always have.

Was searching for a Pre-36 Model of 1953. I got one, then another presented itself that I couldn't turn down. One is satin and the other is high-polish. Another subtle difference is the slight difference in the flat-latch. I was going to let one go, but they both grew on me.

I was just walking by the gun counter at my LGS, not looking for anything, when a young salesman I didn't recognize, handed me this and asked me what I thought of it. He was so new, he didn't know that I'm a grumpy old curmudgeon who only looks at old revolvers. Here he was handing me a plastic semi. What the?
Then he started telling me what a great gun it was. He listed all the features, telling me about this and that, and some other thing. As he's talking I could feel the nanobots getting under my skin. I really took it intending to be polite and hand it back with a "Thanks but no thanks." That didn't work. The more I handled it, the better I liked it.
So now I own a CZ P10-C. I doubt it will be a carry gun. I'm pretty much to lazy to lug around something like this, but I did just join the range again for the first time since the COVID hit. And I do have a couple of buckets of 9mm I reloaded back before all this got started. I've even got bullets and powder, primers available.

My latest gun thingy is a Mantis X3.
I have not been doing much shooting lately and wanted something to make dry fire practice more productive. It is also something that will assist with live fire training once that becomes practical again. I have had it about a month and so far I am really impressed. Stance, grip, trigger control - it really helps you see what you are doing. I like it a lot.

Well, I ordered 2 Makarov #MAGAzines that weren't supposed to get here until 03/08, but they arrived today. I needed them because I got tired of my grandson whining about how his pistols pulled his pants down. Since he declined my offer of a set of Perry Suspenders, on Saturday I took my Ruger EC9s with 3 #MAGAzines & a CYA IWB holster to him and came home with a 1983 Bulgarian Makarov with 1 #MAGAzine and 129 rounds of 9mm Makarov 93 gr FMJs.
The Makarov carries easily without a holster, but I got a Russian military one off eBay and have a Kydex IWB coming that should be here Monday.

Two recent finds, both dirt cheap even for pre-panic prices.
Springfield MC Operator
And a diiiiiiirt cheap Russian T03 .22lr, a surprisingly neat little rifle with a 4 position (25yd increments) rotary flip sight.

This is technically not my purchase. For Valentines Day I took my much better half handgun shopping. After looking a a few pistols, she bought herself a very lightly used M&P Shield 380 EZ M2.0. She has nerve damage in her right hand. She could rack the Shield's slide. Plus she liked the trigger and how it felt in her hand.
Last Sunday we had the Shield EZ out to the range. It came with five magazines. We ran four different factory loads, including two different defense loads through each magazine. The Shield EZ ran flawlessly.
Gramma with her new pistol.

Once you fall off the wagon it’s all downhill from there… Couldn’t resist a 39-2 in blue.....Well worn but still very serviceable and besides I have a nickel 39-2 looker.

Well, I'm on a roll. I'm purchasing this 3rd Gen. engraved Colt in .45 Colt with 5 1/2" barrel. Grips are ill fitting and I'm not sure they are Ivory, but I'll check them when I get the gun.
Supposedly it's Factory engraved too.

Had an irrationally exuberant desire for a pre-WW2 20 gauge Winchester Model 12:
Waiting for delivery. I plan to enjoy it for a bit with the hope that when it comes time to sell I will be able to get back about what I paid.

Went to the big gun show in Lima yesterday. There were supposed to be a total of 700 (including vendors) allowed at any one time. Took me about 30 minutes in line to get in. One entrance for four buildings and one allowed exit.
I took a 66 four inch to sell. Lots of interest but no sale. I ended up buying 2 guns. One was a great condition 3913 with four mags. The other was a BNIB Beretta Cougar 45.
Now I have to look for some 3913 mags. They seem to be as rare as my 4566 mags I just sold. Oh well there is OGCA next weekend.

I had decided to retire my M97 Winchester as my home defense shotgun, so last Thursday I went to the local Rural King. They had a SDS CIVET 12 gauge box magazine shotgun and I bought one. The reviews on it are good. It is basically a Remington 870 copy adapted to use a detachable magazine.
It has been a bit chilly, but Monday is supposed to hit the high 50s, so I'll take it out & shoot it a bit.

Today’s find...
.45 Colt Brass
Hornady .45 Cal 225 FTX
Hornady 10mm/.40 200 XTP
I was surprised to see these items still remaining on the shelves of the Vancouver, WA, Sportsman’s Warehouse.

Factory target grips.

Hello mainegrw. PM me if you decide to sell that Python. I'm in Maine so maybe you won't even to ship it!

Whats your latest purchase? "guns/accesories"
Finally got my Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf lower. I have had the upper for some time mated to a colt m4 lower and wanted to have a dedicated lower got the .50 and put my M4 back together.

I'm out of town, but my daughter told me a small, padded envelope came in the mail containing a #MAGAzine just like this, minus the ammo, of course, showed up at the house.
Also, I bought these boxes of Federal 9x19 mm ball & CCI MEATEATER .22LR 21 gr copper polymer "Small Game" ammo at Tomball Pawn. The very light bulleted .22s are a copper-polymer blend truncated cone with a tiny dimple for a hollow-point at a claimed 1850 fps. There is a YouTube where 5 rounds over 1900 GPS out of a 16½ inch CZ .22 and over 900 fish out of a tiny NAA revolver.
The Federal was $29.95 for 50 residents. The CCI was $11.95 for 50 rounds.

Latest purchase
I bought a box of 50 M41 .38 Special 130 gr. a month or so ago for $20. I am under the impression this is one of the rounds the U.S. military used.
Even if they are not anything special 20 bucks for a box of 38s is pretty good these days.
Can't find the durn photo. I'll take another and post it soon if anyone is interested.
Tell me what I've got if you have any info.

Snow and Leather
Our Snow Storm not only bought Heavy Snow, it also bought
good luck.
A barely used excellent condition Bianchi X15 Medium Patented
Leather Shoulder Holster. Found it in the "Holster Bin" at my
favorite Local Gun Store. $53.25
Fits well and ready to conceal my circa 2011 Ruger SR1911 Full
Size 45ACP while doing chores.

I just ordered a brand new H&K USP45 Elite online, which only cost me a mere $1150 once was all said and done. That may not sound like too great a deal, but to give you an idea here, folks are currently attempting to sell base model USPs for $1300 in used condition, and new models are being sold for $1500.
The Elite Model that I just purchased is the highest quality model available, (USP > Tactical > Expert > Elite) and at pre-pandemic prices was going for about $1499.99, if you could even find one since they're imported in limited quantities. So I'm extremely satisfied.
I've wanted one of these babies for the longest time, but previously I either lacked the funds to purchase one, and whenever I did they were all sold out.
The H&K USP45 Elite is a grand pistol which looks not unlike a Walther PP on steroids with more modern styling, and those who follow my posts know that my favorite pistol of all time is the Walther PPK/S, (Which is basically just a Walther PP with a shorter barrel) so the aesthetics were of massive appeal to me. Furthermore, the H&K USP45, being a descendant of the US Navy SOCOM Mark 23 Pistol, is massively overbuilt for a .45, designed to withstand regular use of overpressure loads, thus making it one of the few pistols capable of shooting .45 Super right from the factory. (For those who haven't heard of it, .45 Super is an extremely hot loaded .45 ACP with ballistics comparable to 10mm Auto.) I doubt that I'll do much shooting with .45 Super, but it's an interesting and exciting little feature just the same.
The only minor downside is that the one I ordered was a California Compliant model which only comes with a pair of 10 round magazines instead of the standard 12 round magazines, but I can live with that.
I'll post some pics once I have received it, but obviously that's going to take awhile.
Until then, here's a pic from Wikipedia...
HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!!
