Last week, I was lucky enough to come across a 6"617-6 in like-new condition.i traded a Glock Model 44 in.22 LR and added $150.00 to that. I think I made a great acquisition. I've been wanting one for a very long time,

Got a Model 10-7 4" tapered barrel yesterday.
I wasn't looking to buy anything, but sometimes things were just meant to be.
This is my only Model 10. But it's a nice one.

I purchased a Walther P5 yesterday, but couldn't take it home due to the state authorization computer system being down. Hopefully it can come home next week...
This one is well loved, and has an electro pencil rack number on the side. I believe the importer was Heritage Arms. Anybody know where where Heritage had imported these from?

I have P5 that was a commercial model sold here in the 80's.
IIRC all the imported P5's were from different West German LEO agencies.
I would check out one of the Walther forums to get a more detailed answer.
Again, IIRC the pistols had markings on them that indicated what agency had them, but sometimes they were struck from the gun when sent out of the country as surplus.
Anyway, congrats on getting a great 9mm pistol, enjoy it.

Once again I fell for the "charm" of the "old slab sides".
Waiting on red tape. LGS gun, so hands on inspection. Seller picture does not do it justice. Gun looks like new. It doesn't even has the "famous scratch" near the hold open.
Edit. Checked the serial #. It's from 1976. An anniversary gun for the USA independence.

Impulse buy of the week:
Having sold my Beretta A400 Xcel less than a week ago, I definitely wasn’t looking for another A400. However, while checking Walmart for ammo I spotted a 26” A400 Explor; the A400 I originally wanted in the first place. Online stores and the local shops want $1500 to $1600 for the same model, Walmart was asking $1248. I also snagged 3 boxes of Winchester Heavy Target loads for $5.70 a box.

And...
I've been lusting for one of these for some time. But they had been sold out.
Well, the LGS had just received a fresh supply and it was almost sold out again. I noticed them today when I stopped at the LGS to start the paper work on the Colt. So I brought one home with me.

Nice. 15 years ago I bought one of those for my son in law. Been jealous of it ever since.

I did, I’ve had it for 2 years now. It’s one of the least accurate 1911 Colt I have but it’ll do the job. And it’s 100% stock including the trigger pull.
It’s also banging the cases pretty hard
But it’s a real classic and I like it
In fact I recently received a display case and its featured in it, with the 1913, 1943, 1970.

Thank you Oliver. We shall see how mine behaves. The truth is I bought it just for the looks(it's in the collector permit). My competition pieces are an STI Spartan and a Colt Gold Cup Series 80 as backup.

My GC is the backup because the STI is a little more accurate. I have no targets to show. But I usually finish in the top 3 in our National Championship and I won it a few times too.
Edit. And I just realized I had never taken pictures of both of them together.
Fixed it.

Hornady Custom Grade Dies, 308 Marlin Express, FL, 2 Die set,

I have several Hornady Die Sets, and they appear to make

Another good day at the LGS. Purchased a Savage Axis II Veil Whitetail Camo Exclusive 6.5 Creedmoor w/4-12x40mm Bushnell scope and heavy barrel (no ammo for it but that's ok I have some on order), an Allen sling for same, 2 boxes of CCI shotshell 22lr and a box of Hornaday critical defense .45 ACP.

I made a couple recent pickups, will post some photos when I get around to it....
First off, snagged a few magazines for some Mauser 1914 pistols I have. These have an integral magazine safety, and one is getting worn down some and requires a little upward pressure on the base of the mag to work. Seems that the new (Triple K) mags mostly fix that issue.
Second, being leery of potential changes in purchasing online, I picked up a complete upper for my AR. This is a BCA 7.62x39 upper, and I got some C Products mags to go with it. I figure, I had the AR (in 5.56), have an SKS in 7.62 but no AK, and the upper was a lot cheaper than an AK. Ignition seems fine, having some issues with extraction. Hope to get that worked out, waiting on BCA to respond but I'm already looking around at possible fixes.
Third, was browsing parts on GB and came across an unspecified 'scope' assemblage of parts; couple things mounted to each other. I bid, won for under $80, and it came in. Came with a (dead on arrival) Mini Maglite, a fully functioning Beamshot Ultra laser, and some unknown brand Red Dot sight (marked Pro5, made in Japan). I ordered some batteries for the scope, and on a hunch paired up a couple batteries meant for cameras and it works. I searched online, and the laser itself was a fair deal; the red dot sight becomes a freebie.
Slapped it on my AR for now.

[QUOTE=CLASSIC12;141118970]I did, I’ve had it for 2 years now. It’s one of the least accurate 1911 Colt I have but it’ll do the job. And it’s 100% stock including the trigger pull.
<Images deleted to save space, well done images, very well done!>
Check your recoil spring, might be a good idea to replace it, for some reason known only to Saint John Browning, a new spring beats up the cases less.

Whose Mk IV S 70 was manufactured in 1973, traded for by me in 1974. Fiber optic sights and still running the original finger brushing, never having removed it since about 1975.

Since I've owned my .22 suppressor I've been looking for a suitable bolt action .22 to put it on. It's quiet on my semi-autos, but I know it'll be even quieter on a bolt. I have an old Remington 512 "Beehive" bolt that I've owned for better than 30 years, but didn't want to cut threads on it.
I was looking for a Savage MkII FV-SR, but they're out of stock everywhere, and selling for $100 over retail (used!) on GB in the current insanity.
A local shop has had a Tikka T1x on the wall for a while, so after reading some reviews online that spoke of excellent accuracy, I decided to buy it. Coincidentally, my club just announced a new benchrest match series for .22 rimfire, so things escalated a little bit, and it went from fun suppressor host to target rifle...
I ordered up a KRG Bravo stock, and a Mueller 8-32x scope. Not the greatest glass in the world, but should get me going.
Now I just need time to get out and try it out...

I haven't purchased a gun in quite a while. Been wanting a .22 pistol for rim fire falling plates at the club. I had nothing suitable. Bought a Buck Mark Contour lite 5.5" URX. Got a red dot to try on it from a friend, and Forum member. GOOD deal on it considering how the market is. Spent casing was from 2009. Gun new in box. Let's see now how good or bad I am! Now, need some cheap .22's! Bob

This morning I hit the show in Centralia, WA. Lots of guns, knives, ammo and primers. Guns were reasonably priced, powder was ok at $40 per pound, but ammo (especially 22lr)and primers ($200 a brick) were stupid high. I did find a gentleman who sold me a box of Winchester 12 ga #6 for $5 and a sleeve of Winchester LPP that contained 55/100 for free.
There was a clean Marlin 336 in 35 Rem for $600 that caught my eye, but sadly I just couldn’t fabricate a decent justification.

In a local online auction last week, I bought about 500 rds of 20 gauge hunting loads, 2 boxes of 12 gauge hunting loads and 4 .50 ammo cans. I split the haul with my oldest friend.
Now they have put up another auction to pull me back in.

Picked up a brick of CCI small pistol primers at a small 125 table gun show here in Northwest Iowa today for $200. Only one the dealer had and he had 2 bricks of Tula Ammo primers stacked on top of it.

Plus it will make easier to clean & do maintenance.

After 30 years of looking I serendipitously stumbled upon an unfired Savage 99 in 358 Winchester at a nearby show. I bought it from the original owner, who bought it new in ‘78 and tucked it away in his safe, unfired.

Lucky 7
"What's your latest purchase? guns/accessories".
Unexpected find over the weekend, very reasonably priced.
7MM Rem Mag Hornady Custom Grade Dies, 2 Die set, Full
Length, #546326, Shell Holder #5 thrown in.
Another nice Die Set from Hornady. They make great Reloads
just like my Lee Precision Die Sets.
