Well my latest is a new 6" Model 48 "Classic" that needed to get sent back to the factory because point of impact was so far to the right I had to take up all of the adjustment in the rear blade. I could have lived with it but I called Smith and they said send it back to them.

Guessing the Quality Control supervisor must have been on vacation that week. I'll get it back in 4 to 6 weeks or so I'm told.

Last purchase before that was a 5" Chiappa Rhino. Pretty sweet little revolver I must say.

I suddenly realized, that time did not stand still since I started shooting a "few" decades ago. I had run out to the gun range shortly after FEDEX dropped the gun off. Easy to shoot well but the trigger will need some attention.

Shadow Systems MR920 Elite with a Trijicon RMR2. Muzzle brake is on the way and the tumbler is running non-stop since two days.

As a retired python-carrying cop and who is still a big fan, I found these grips rather interesting, especially since they're from Colt's home PD. The owner is retired from Colt and said they were custom made for the Hartford, CT, Police Department. He's had them sitting around since the late 70's or 80s. Thinking about putting them on my 2020 python.

Well Mr. CH4, if you're not happy with them I'd consider taking them off your hands!

Bout an hour ago bought a Glock 41 MOS

Gonna order an RMR to go on top.

My buddy CCWs a pistol with a RMR and is in love with it. Figured why not give it a try.

Something I've had for a long time, with something new added...

I've had this classic Gun-Ho target box for decades. For most of that time, the poor thing has been filled with 'gun junk' and stuck in a closet. I finally got it out, and cleaned it out.

Then I spent about a month finding a vintage Bushnell spotting scope for it, which showed up a couple of weeks ago. Then we went on vacation, so today was the first time I've had a chance to take any pics.

With a couple of occupants of 'appropriate vintage'...

Now I need to start picking up some vintage ammo boxes for the bottom shelf...

Yesterday I received the custom sheath I commisioned for the knife I picked up at a gun show this summer. I had it made to match my SAA rig, and plan to use the same belt border design for an N frame rig down the road, so it will match that when the time comes. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Spent some time upgrading my Ruger MKII Government with a Volquartsen accurizing kit that arrived today. It now has a crisp 2.5 lb trigger. I’m pleased.

Also received a Hi-Viz front site.

Picked these two up in the last month or so:

First, a No Dash 586 that I'm told came from an older gentleman unfortunatelyheaded for an assisted living facility. The gun, I'm pretty sure wasn't fired, or wasn't fired much since it's purchase in the early 80s, having only a faint turn line, and a perfect action, nearly no cylinder play at all. She does sport a couple wear spots though, I think from sitting in either the fleece lined soft case she came in, or perhaps the accompanying leather holster. Not sure though. Beautiful shooter though.

Second, I grabbed this 1995 proofed Beretta 92FS Inox, complete with original box, Inox mags, and all paperwork. She's been upgraded with a D Spring, Elite II hammer, and Wilson Combat G10 thin grips. The original hammer and grips were also included, and all parts are stainless unlike the current versions with their plastic parts. She was one of two that came from a single collector, consecutive serial numbers as well, however the other was new in box unfired. The second one a friend bought, and I will be nagging him until he sells it to me. Odd thing on the two gins is the Beretta Technical Data entry on them: both show a manufacture date of 2008, whereas the proof marks indicate 1995. That means Beretta sat on them for 13 year before shipping them to Beretta USA for retail. Kinda makes you wonder why....

A Galco Classic Lite for my Shield. I normally pocket carry, but decided I wanted something more accessible for those times I'm forced to drive on the Chicago Interstates. I am still making adjustments but so far it seems well suited to its stated purpose: occasional carry of a lightweight gun.

I have been looking for a vintage long gun display/storage cabinet.

This one popped up on Craigslist.

The widow who had it said that it had been in her LR for 25+ years and had held her late husband's safari rifles.

Original owner had it for 50+ years prior.

It is around 80 years old from the era when Thomasville was a quality brand.

It is a true ten gun cabinet, 40" wide.

Unfortunately for me the contents were previously sold but I have some fun pieces to stock it.

I added some LED dimmer adjusted lighting.

IMO $500 well spent.

Will post some "after" photos later.

Interestingly, I just saw its twin in a six gun size for sale but I don't have the room or need for it.

The stars aligned and the gun gods smiled down at me and said go forth and..... Birthday, First SS check due to arrive, $200 back on the first $500 spent new credit card all combined and said DO IT. A .22lr semi auto handgun would fill a gap in the collection. My old single six is damn slow to load, cock and fire.

Being a member of the local gun range I can use rental guns for free so lets try a few. HA. The range doesn't rent any of the selection of .22lr I can buy in this state All to fragile. Sigh. No Glock 44 for you Bob.

It doesn't take long to realize the approved for sale in California Gun List is getting rather slim. If I rule out all the Zinc slide guns now the list is really skinny.

With luck my Browning Buckmark will be here for Christmas. 5 weeks down so far. Then I can fill out more paperwork and start my 10 day waiting period. I didn't figure I'd survive telling the Mrs. I'd dropped $1500 on a S&W M41.

Bob

Not gun-related, but I just ordered a Rothco Ramster Survival Knife online. It's basically a cheap yet decent quality Taiwanese clone of the iconic Buckmaster 184 Navy Seals Knife. I've wanted one of those for awhile now, but they're out of production and command a significant premium for a used example, so this is as close as I can get.

I found another Legedary Frontiersman in a pawn shop. They are not all that collectible but are very well made XTR era Model 94s in .38-55 for around half the price of a new rifle pattern Model 94.

And with a patina on the silver plated receiver they are not overly garish like many commemoratives.

Bought a .45acp Blackhawk cylinder and 500 pcs of small primer .45acp brass to use in Wild Bunch and cas matches in order to stretch my supply of large pistol primers as far as I can. Have 9000 spp/srp but only half that in lpp. I’ll use the lpp in my .45colt and .44-40 cas rifles.

Sometimes you take a chance and get totally surprised as to what turns up. GunBroker had an email that featured nothing but auctions for Browning firearms, and when I pushed the button for High Power pistols this beauty turned up. It was customized by a shop in Anchorage, AK called Wild West Guns. It had its own TV show on Animal Planet channel a while ago. The shop did an action job, installed the Millett sights and put in a Bar-Sto barrel. Service by the buyer was absolutely top notch. They made sure to help me track the gun all the way from Alaska to south-central PA. There is a fabulous contrast between the silver chrome finish and the black parts. And what's really amazing is that I cleared the 2nd place bid by $.22. Definitely an old classic too good to pass up.

Found this pair a couple weeks ago. Both 617-1's. One square and the other round butt.

Thanks
Steve

I was at the Al Capone Auction in Sacramento on October 8. I bought Sonny Capone's Randall Model 12 - Little Bear Bowie. Sonny was Big Al's son. The knife arrived today, and here it is. I have no idea why I bought it. Maybe to say to my friends, "This Randall knife used to belong to Al Capone's son." If my mother were still alive, she would tell me that I have more money than brains.

Bought three yesterday. A S&W 9mm EZ, a Rock Island M200 38 4 inch, and another Rock Island but a 1911 45 Auto. Couldn't turn 'em down. All 3 out the door for $950. Want to see how that little revolver does as a truck gun. Didn't really need another 1911 but winter carry is coming so will do a bit of shooting with it soon and even though I have a Sig 365 I want to see how the Smith stacks up. Pics later. The Rock Islands both look to be ok for their very reasonable cost. There re kinda mixed reviews on the revolver...but should be ok for a truck gun

Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to me!

Not my birthday but got a good wheeling n dealing on this one. Dunham's had this listed for $549, Rural King had it on sale for $429 and with Dunham's price match got it. Can't seem to find any 9mm Sheild 2.0 at the other LGS for under $520... seems like they've gone up quite a bit.

Shot my daughter's 9mm Shield last year and liked it a lot. Not sure it will replace my 360 AirWeight as my EDC but time will tell.

Stopped by the Vegas Bass Pro. Didn’t expect to find this “minty” 4” Diamondback; unfortunately the barrel is 1.5” longer than I was looking for, but the price was right. Guess it’s my turn to babysit it. No box or goodies, just the gun and a nice rug.
I was pleased to find that it fits nicely in K frame holsters.

Default My purchases in the last week or so

Got one of the RIA 4 in M-200 38s a RIA 1911 A1 a M&P EZ 9 for me and another for momma if I can pry that little kahr 9mm that bites the top of her thumb every now and then. Also found a NIB Lyman die set in 32-20 so I can reload for my old S&W 32-20s. Also shown is 400 of the 800 SRMPs I got yesterday... They weren't cheap at 5.99 a box but loading up some 223s for the AR so think I can use 'em. SRPs are the primers I have the least of Edited to add...the revolver has a very good trigger pull. The 1911s trigger isn't great but not really bad and it only came with 1 mag. It is supposed to be fixed sights but is adjustable sighted which is a plus I guess. The two S&Ws are both ok. Going to shoot them both to break 'em in before carrying.

I added a H&K USP Sport in 9mm. It's not generally imported to the states.

I ordered a pair of El Paso Saddelry holsters a little over a week ago: a horsehide pocket holster for my P938, and a Tanker holster for my M11 A1. Man said to expect a three week turnaround...just in time for cold weather carry.

My latest purchase was a Zoekim BCG carbon scraper, it's basically a generic version of the Real Avid scraper.

Seems okay, it was cheaper than Avids.
