Default Swede CG-63

Does anyone have one of these Swedish CG-63 target rifles? I'd sorta like to have one, but would appreciate some feedback before I jump.

Never owned a CG63 but own a CG M96 and a Husqvarna M38. Both were extremely accurate rifles, especially with handloads. I don't think you could go wrong with one.

Default If you're still interested...

I just ran across this thread while doing searches for 6.5 loads for the CG-63. If you're still interested I can give you some info. My favorite Mausers are the Swedes (I've got an M96, M38 and a CG-63) and the 6.5x55 is my favorite rifle round. They're extremely accurate, nice flat trajectory and very mild recoil and the quality of manufacturing for Carl Gustavs and Husqvarna rifles are second to none.
The CG-63's are Carl Gustav receivers (a few Husqvarna receivers were used) rebarreled with a heavier 29" match barrel with a slightly different twist rate, 1:8.6 and freefloated. Some have the traditional military trigger, but retuned and some have an adjustable 2-stage like mine. The diopiter sights are made by a handful of companies, Elit is the most common and they're good out to 800m. The action is cock on closing and it's very smooth, IMO much smoother than K98 cock on opening type action. Some are straight bolt handle, others were modified by bending the slightly down and rearward with a large ball handle added. Mine has this and it's actually a nice feature. Mine was formerly owned by a FSR member, a Swedish marksmanship organization, so it was well treated over the years. But I have the impression most CG-63's would be as nice. I bought mine from Simpson Ltd. with my C&R, and I've always been very pleased with what I've bought from them over the years. I would make sure that if you do buy one, make sure the front sight insert is there. They're a little hard to find, but it's not impossible. I've read on various sights it's possible to modify other inserts to fit, but I haven't tried that yet.
If you have a questions, shoot me an email and I'll try to help you out. Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier.
