First 10/22 stock that got my attention...."Finished' Larry
Never seen one quite like this.
In the process of refinishing it now.
Shows some real good character.

As far as I can tell yes.
Trying to tell the wood type was very difficult.
Mr. Culina/Kurac here was kind enough to help determine it is American Black Walnut that has been slab sawn.
The first picture can really throw you off on wood type.
I'm refinishing it now and it is really coming out spectacular

This is a closeup of the wrist section
other side and how it's coming along.
I find the total lack of symmetry from one side to the other kind of neat even in the wrist section

Very unique. There's a very old Black Walnut on my property I've been eyeing lately. It has a large low horizontal branch that's in the way when bush hogging anyways.
Maybe I can find some stock material if I'm lucky.

The early 10-22's were furnished with walnut stocks then they went to birch I believe. If not original to the gun, perhaps a take off stock from a early one? I just bought a new International stocked 10-22 last month that did have a walnut stock (turned out to be part of Rugers 50th anniversary of the 10-22 model), had the clerk bring out three of em and picked out the nicest one. But I will tell you it's not even close to that stock you have there!

That is by far the nicest 10/22 stock I have ever seen! Wow, I'm jealous! 
Could you tell me what products you used finishing this stock? I'm going to re-finish a stock on an old Remington Sportsmaster .22 for my daughter.

I used the birchwood casey tru-oil.
I've had good luck with it.
Applied with just using a finger as an applicator.
I believe I used about 5 thin coats.......it is getting cold
