Colt 1911 restoration gunsmith
Are any of you who are also Colt fans, like I am, familar with the Colt Restoration gunsmith by the name of Steve Moeller located in Il.?

I did a few jobs (recutting) for Steve but that was almost 15/20yrs ago now. His work was always of the highest degree.
It was Winchester & Marlin lever guns primarily back then mostly but Colts too. IIRC I also did some work on a Wesson SxS shotgun for him now that I think of it.

2152hq, thank you for your reply. That is exactly the info that I am looking for. I am contemplating having a "road hard, put away wet" 1911 restored for 20's/30's Texas Ranger LE look. I would never do it on a collectible version in good condition. Mr. Moeller is within driving distance so perhaps I will call and see if I can make an appointment to both visit with him and take a 45 to him. Again ,thanks for your reply. All my best, Joe.
