Interesting approach for those who prefer a single type of round in their rifle/revolver combination.

Nice video
Ruger is surely putting out some nice firearms.
When purchasing my SR1911 at the LGS a gentleman next to me was buying a bolt action Gunsite Scout Rifle 308 Win which was absolutely gorgeous.

I, personally, don't see them selling a bunch of them. The 357 does not have the range to take advantage of the better accuracy available from a scoped bolt gun. With a choice of a ten-round lever versus a 4-round bolt, in the same size package, the lever just makes more sense.
Unless you are one of THEM, that don't like levers.

I have to agree and feel that a Super Redhawk and a Deerfield Carbine is a better same cartridge pairing.

Now, that rifle would be a good platform for the resurrection of the .357 Maximum cartridge.

Selling a lot of those GunSites around here for hog hunters. This 357 bolt looks likes like a winner for that also. Full house 357 Mags with the right bullet out of easy to handle rifle can be a good short range set up as the Lady stated.

Probably would be nice to have around if someone was trying to force your window open at 3:00 AM, Goodnight.

I would like to see a .357 in their 10/22 platform. The .44 mag is nice but with the .357, you can also shoot .38's with it. Good for training youngsters without buying another gun.

He starts out "stacking" the triger. Right handed.
Then he shoots the rifle lefty.
Same guy?
I like the rifle in .357 but have little use for it other than burning ammo and for that I like the .38 option.

Notice that the southpaw shooter manipulates the bolt in the proper way (however awkwardly by removing his weak hand from the fore-end), using the "cup" of his palm and the round knob of the bolt handle as a sort of ball and trunnion joint, rather than pinching the bolt handle between thumb and forefinger. This is possible because Ruger, unlike too many other manufacturers, builds these carbines with a "proper" smooth spherical bolt knob. Too bad they can't get the triggers right... Thankfully, the triggers are easily put right by the installation of a Timney sear kit. My K77/44 has pretty much displaced other options as my choice for a campsite long gun --- short, light, handy, and potent enough to solve any problem posed by bipeds or quadripeds in my usual AOs.

I'm guessing that we're witnessing the unusual combination of right-handed, left-eye-dominant shooter, who can shoot and aim the revolver right-handed, where the dominant hand/eye is not an issue, but is obliged to aim the carbine with the left eye, which may explain his dexterity in manipulating the bolt. This is a problem elegantly solved for some shooters by red-dot sights...

I've shot a left handed bolt and use my right hand over the top. It's my dads '06 and I ain't about to go hunting with it so I can see how useful the use of the weak arm could be. Especially with a lighter rifle.

I bought one and I like it; however, even with a scope I haven't gotten better than 4" groups at a hundred yards. And that is the best group. Light, handy and companion to my 357 revolver - you bet. Accurate - meh, could be better.

the handgun looks good. The rifle? No, make mine a .223, .44 mag semi auto, 7mm-08 or .308, .348, .358 or .350 Rem mag and I'd really pay attention! CB

With luck, someone will pass your helpful suggestions for magically cramming full-length rifle cartridges into revolver-cartridge length actions along to the manufacturers. Be assured, we're hopeful, and cheering on this novel idea... I for one, and assuredly others, too, are eager to know about the .350 Remington Magnum revolver/carbine combo... And, rest assured, many of us are really paying attention!

I clearly said "no" to the rifle idea. I don't want or need a whimpy revolver round in a long gun. Sheesh. I get the physics fool. C.B.
