Ruger "Shopkeeper"
They announced this Lipsey's Exclusive at the SHOT Show. I told Bo Barrow at the NAPA to get me one as soon as he could. It came in Wednesday.
Birdshead New Vaquero .45ACP with the "Shopkeeper" New Bearcat.
I had Ray at Lobogunleather make this holster for me four or five years ago for a 3" j-frame S&W. It isn't a perfect fit, but dang near.
"Ruger Bearcat" on the cylinder, with the Bear and Cat scroll.
"Ruger New Bearcat" on the frame

The springs are "robust" to say the least. The wood to metal fit could be better, but it could have cost another $100, too. All in all, I am very satisfied. I have been shooting S&W Kit Guns from the late 60s and early 70s, and I guess it isn't fair to make that comparison. The trigger isn't bad. I will run a couple of bricks through it before I think about different springs, etc. I think it is a neat looking little piece.
I have to say, too, it isn't the easiest thing to manipulate as far as loading, ejecting, etc. if one has fat, cold, arthritic, old, carpal-tunneled fingers. Hopefully, everything will loosen up or at least become more familiar as I shoot it.
All in all, I love it.

I could enjoy a Bearcat in that configuration.

That sure does give me some ideas. Does it come with 2 cylinders? A 22LR and 22MAG?

I have had my local GS put my name on the list.
Been circling around Bearcats without actually buying one for years.
That will end sometime this year.

Why the 'Shopkeeper"
Is this the gun under the counter that the store guy is always eyeing while he is being robbed? Then the robber says, "Don't try it." Then he runs out and the shopkeeper grabs the gun and fires a few parting shots in his direction??
