Found a Ruger for my collection.

1956 Single Six .22 Flatgate More pictures coming once I get it out of jail.

That's very nice! It looks like that's a 4-digit serial number. If it is,that's 1954,the second year of production. Wish I had a box for mine,but they cost several times more than I paid for the gun.

Nice one! Rugers were my first quality handguns.I could afford them!This standard ( '54) just showed up a few weeks ago.

I have a couple rugers also.A super blackhawk 44magnum and a sp101 357mag.They are fine guns.Here are the pics.

Now thats nice! However, it would look a lot better away from that box and papers,send the box to me and I'll keep my 57 vintage flatgate in it and spare you the shame. Thanks for shareing that one.

My first good handgun was a convertable single six that I bought in 1960 or 1961. My house was burglared about 10 years later and I lost it. I found another that looked new in the box about 10 years ago. This one was made in 1959. Those early ones have a bore that is strictly for .22 lr.. Not like the later ones made a thousance bigger to accomidate .22 wmrf (one bore fits all). They should be more accurate than the later ones.

That's interesting.I bought a single six in the mid eighties and sold it a few years later.I never found a brand of ammo that it liked.It wasn't a bad shooter, but it wasn't nearly as accurate as the Marks.
