Default Palmetto State Armory problem

Has anyone here had a problem recently with Palmetto State Armory ignoring them? I placed an order for ammo back on February 10th. I waited more than two weeks for the order to come, only to find out half my order was missing. I got an email follow up saying the items were backordered. I don't do backorders, so I contacted them three times by email, waiting a few days in between just to give them a chance to respond. Then I called and sat on hold for 45 minutes before finally giving up hope of ever speaking to someone live.

Palmetto's website specifically states that they have a "no backorder" policy. They charged my card for $150 in ammo I may not see for a very long time. I realize with all the craziness that these companies are very stressed, but I have given them weeks worth of leeway here. My emails have all been polite requests for a refund, so it's not like I went off on them or anything.

I notice that you said you don't do backorders. In this present crises many would love to have ammo on backorder as they are at least in line to get some ammo verus not getting an order in at all. Times are bad and they are far from getting better as things will get far worse before they get better. Most folks think everything will be fine in a month or so, not happening.

Have you watched the national press? It seems like a coordinated effort is under way to subvert our Second Amendment Rights. We are being attacked on a daily basis by the press in print and tv. I've never seen anything like it in my lifetime. Day in and day out the attacks continue.

Send them an email explaining that you are disputing the charge with your bank and then do it.

I don't participate in backorders, because I have no trouble finding ammo for sale. In between my local gun shop, online shopping and Walmart, I can buy ammo pretty much every day. So when Palmetto charged my card, they took my ability to use that $150 elsewhere.

Now that I have posted this, I am discovering that Palmetto has a history of this type of behavior, and the only recourse people have had is to file chargebacks with their bank. I am disappointed in myself for not doing the research I usually do on a company before I order from them. Lesson learned.

If you could buy it local then why did you buy online? If I could buy local I sure would not buy off the internet, internet for me is only for great deals or only place I could get a item. I have ordered from Palmetto int the past with no problems with the frenzy going on now I can understand a delay. They should not have charged your CC for items not delivered IMO. I just received 3 Magpul mags from Botach that were on onder for 3 months took awhile didn't charge until shipped no complaints because I knew there was a frenzy going on and paid their list price of $12 each no gouging there. Again I don't think they should have charged for items not sent unless it is in their policy where stated.

Update to last post Palmetto policy Order Cancellations– All requests for an order cancellation must be submitted via e-mail. Payments are processed immediately upon placement of your order."Right in their Terms and conditions section. I do not agree with this but remember read terms befor ordering and "Caveat emptor" I agree them using your money while waiting for your item in these times is a little over the edge, espicaly if you have to wait months for an item.

Yeah, I knew before ordering that they were going to charge my card. That is not the issue. All of the items I ordered were listed as "in stock" at the time I placed my order. Then, two weeks later when they shipped the order they realized they didn't have the items for whatever reason. That is fine as well, mistakes in inventory happen.

Where they went wrong was stating very clearly on their website "No Backorders" and then placing my missing items on backorder without my consent. Then they ignore my attempts to get my money refunded. They have no idea when the missing ammo will be back in stock. If they keep my money for a year before shipping the ammo, shouldn't I make interest on it?

I do find ammo locally. One day I find 9mm practice ammo, and the next I find .380 self defense rounds, and the next day something else. I have a gun in pretty much every hand gun caliber, so I have no problem finding something to shoot. It just so happens Palmetto had a pretty good price on 45 long colt that day. In retrospect, it wasn't such a great deal after all.
