I have had this rig set up for all of about 90 minutes.

FYI, the Pioneer scope cost about $100, the Buehler Microadjust base about $20 and the solid Buhler 7/8" rings about $75.

Please note, I much prefer the SK Mounts and bases with a scope that has its own windage and elevation adjustments:

I used to be a Remington Bolt Action fan (still think they are nice) but not too long ago I helped my friend mount a scope, adjust the trigger and sight in his older (new to him) Winchester M70 in .223. I was very impressed with it. At 200 feet it made one hole from the sandbag rest, and the action was very nice indeed. It gave me new respect for the Wini!

The cut rifle barrels and that third screw located under the barrel makes for super accuracy. My 338 is a 1/2 minute gun with most reloads.

No plans to sell. But a very wise person once told me that except for God, Family and Honor, everything is for sale, the only issue is the price.

Accordingly, although I have no desire to sell (if I did I would use the correct Forum) all unreasonably high offers will be seriously considered

Very nice rifle. My friend wanted me to help her sell guns her dad left her. She felt another fellow that "helped" her was low balling them. She asked if there was a gun I would like. I replied a Winchester Model 70, thinking the fellow probably took it if she ever had one. She brought out a Model 70 made in 1936, 4 digit serial number. All she wanted was for me to take photos of the game I take with it, no money. She's a doctor and the photo's of her dad's rifle being used are more to her than some extra change in the bottom of her Louis Vuitton. We both smile.

So let's see the pictures

When I bought a nice 1949 win 30-06 model 70 it came equipped with weaver roll over mounts and bases. If you wanted to use the iron sights just grab the scope and roll it over to the left. To use the scope roll over to the right. Frank
