A new 1911 and rimfire rifle
Stopped in to visit a friend's gun shop yesterday. I had a store credit for a rifle he sold for me...so I bought this Stevens Model 416 .22 lr bull barreled target rifle. No US or Ordnance Bomb so its a civilian model. The US Military used them during WWII as basic marksmanship trainers.
The gun shop was on the way to meet someone to look at and maybe buy a Springfield Omega 10mm with 6" Ported Barrel. By the serial number it looks like Springfield used one of their National Match frames. The gun looks almost new in the box.

Nice snag.
I really like that rifle--I'm a sucker for trainers and peep sights!

Very cool. I had to look up info on the Omega I had no idea Springfield made any 1911s with external extractors and this one has 2! I read it has the 2 so multiple calibers with different case head dimensions can be used on the same slide, neat. It sounded like a real collectable from what I gathered in 5 minutes of reading.

Yeah, that 10mm is a unique pistol to be sure. Not only does it have a 6" slide/barrel, but the two extractors and a very squared off ejection port. Great find that!
