Default Colt Pocket Positive 2 1/2" - Value help please!

Picked up this 2 1/2" Pocket Positive a few weeks ago during local show in Birmingham. It is in great mechanical condition, a lot of fun to shoot, and surprisingly accurate at 25 feet.
I've done some auction site searches trying to come up with an estimated value. Prices are all over the place with little information available on the 2 1/2" barrel.
Please share thoughts about this little jewel along with value estimates.
Your input will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray

That is a little beauty. Made in 1929, it looks like.

I wish I knew more about them. Congrats on a great addition.

I was a great fan of British fictional heroine Modesty Blaise. Check her out Online. The excellent novels were by Peter O'Donnell, and she starred in a comic strip that ran in 57 countries! Bound volumes of the comics have been available.

In earlier books, Modesty wore a Colt .32, no model given. I sort of thought the Pocket Positive might have been that gun, although later models were more likely. I finally pictured her with a Cobra with three-inch barrel as I read. But when I see a gun like yours, I always think of Modesty.

Yours looks very nice. They are neat little revolvers, I've owned a few over the years but only one as clean as that one. Most I had were a bit worn on the outside, probably from being carried a bit. Not sure what they are bringing nowadays, rarely see one for sale. I probably see twenty Police Positive models for every one of these that shows up. A search of completed gunbroker auctions might at least give you a general idea of current value.

Default Around my part of Virginia.

You could likely get three or four bills for it. The oddball cartridge brings the value down quite a bit. If it was in say .38 special, it would bring quite a bit more.

I just paid a little over $400 for a PP in .32. Better cosmetically than yours. Colt pricing is a tricky thing. One thing for sure is that full package guns (docs, box etc) in good shape bring $$$.

You have to love the .32S&W Long! I recently bought a PP .32 and it's fun to shoot, I tend to pay too much, but I would guess your gun, if timing and lockup are good to bring $325-$400 at auction

Sounds like people are saying "if it wasn't what it is it would be worth more but it is what it is and it doesn't have paper and cardboard so it's worth even less than it would be if it was another caliber which it's not so since I have no clue check something else out on Gunbroker and see what it would bring if was something else!
