Taurus problems
Had a Taurus 444. It split new cases after second reload. Rear site you could "wiggle" Shot good at 9 yrd target. All brands have isolated problems.
Had no problems with Smith or Ruger pistols. Taurus seems to have reputation for problems earned or not

I have a blued w/colored cased frame 5" Raging Bull, M-94 .22 LR, and Tracker S.S. 4" .22 Mag. All Now have several hundred to several thousand rounds through them. The only time I had any problems with one of these firearms was with the .22 mag and it was when I picked it up from the dealer and I knew it had to go back to the factory, which it did... but first I shot it to find out if there was any other problems with it. The problem was that the cylinder would not fully rotate all chambers, it would lock up on one or two during double action shooting or dry firing. I called Taurus (Braztec) and they arranged pickup to inspect the Tracker and in two weeks it came back with a better trigger action and actually shot better than when it left my house. I can't complain about the Taurus brand or their customer service... but, then again that's just one mans experience and I thought I'd pass the information along.
Take Care

I had 5 Taurus revolvers. Decided one day to check the barrel to cylinder alignment with a range rod. All 5 were out of time. I no longer have any Taurus products. I have had good luck with their copy of the 1911.

I'm not buying a Taurus product anymore. Perhaps their products are okay mechanically but I'm having a problem with the people behind that brand.

My only (indirect), experience with a Taurus product was a friend's 605B2. He had less than fifty rounds thru the piece. No 357mag, all 38spl. He was cleaning it one day and the cylinder fell off in his hand. He sent it back and Taurus did make it right. Opinions vary, but any thoughts I might've had about the brand went away that day.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH 3 BRAND NEW TAURUS REVOLVERS MIRRORS THAT OF Kanewpadle's. THEY COULD NOT BE GUNSMITHED INTO ACCEPTABLE REVOLVERS, AND WERE SOLD AT A LOSS. I WAS GLAD TO BE RID OF THEM……..

I just ordered my fourth Taurus semi-auto handgun yesterday. All were purchased this year, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their quality and reliability.

I have no dog in this fight, but there's plenty of S&Ws in the same condition, some owned by members of this forum when they reached that state,
About 25 years ago when I had an FFL, I ordered a 431 for my late father. I never shot it (I doubt he did, either), but fit & finish were decent,DA pull reasonable and properly timed.
It now belongs to my brother and is probably still unfired.
Other than that, everything I know is hearsay.

Anything man made can and will malfunction. If it were not so they'd be no Rolls Royce or Rolex service centers.
The two 9 mm Taurus PT-111's I owned both went over 3,000 round mark each without a "burp" of any sort.
When the G2 version came out I traded up for two of them. They have even better ergonomics and an even better trigger. For all intents and purposes they are the same size and width as the S&W Shield yet have a 12+1 payload.
