Default Any Colt SA .22 experts?

I want to know about the difference in cylinders of the 3 Colt single action .22 models. The Scout, the Peacemaker, and the later New Frontier models look similar, but what about the cylinders? Are they the same length, do any of them interchange? I have a Peacemaker, without the .22 Mag cylinder, and I would like to find one. I have looked at different cylinders at shows, usually not knowing the brand. I have studied the traits of mine, and bought a cylinder the other day, thinking I might get lucky, but I didn't. It was just a hair too long to fit in the frame, and the "star" where the hand engages it, is just slightly different. I haven't been on the Colt forum in years, so I just thought I'd ask here. I'm thinking that the cylinder I bought, might still be a Colt.

I have a New Frontier with both .22 LR and the .22 Mag. cylinder, the LR cylinder is fluted, while the .22 Mag has no flute and stamped .22 MAG. at 2 places.

If your cylinder is fluted, chances are it's not a Colt, may be its a Ruger, I only use the .22 Mag. cylinder once, like most .22 mag handgun, muzzle blast like a cannon and accuracy is terrible, .22 LR are much more pleasant to shoot.

The magnum cylinder I bought is unfluted, and has the caliber around the outside. It looks like a Colt, the pin size looks correct. The guy I got it from said it definately wasn't Ruger. It looks like a very quality piece, very good blueing and polishing.

I think the Scout is a smaller frame then the other two. (but I'm not sure) Someone in the revolver sec. of "The Colt forum" would for sure.
