Default Spyderco Pacific Salt Knife

Hi all, I am currently in Puerto Rico on vacation. I was at Loquillo Beach a couple days ago. To the east side of the beach is a neat place to walk along the shore line. As I walked I noticed something ahead on the sand and no one around. I picked up a yellow handle Spyderco Pacific Salt series knife in excellent condition. It has the H1 series blade, with serrated blade. Beside the knife was a small shackle minus the shackle pin.

I have never owned a Spyderco knife but I do now. It will continue to have a good home.

That is a nice find. I like Spyderco knives, especially when the price is right.

Just make sure when you come home it's in your checked baggage. Otherwise you won't have it long.

Very nice find and a great saltwater knife. Even though the H1 steel is stainless be sure to wash it good and put a dab of oil on it to keep it protected from the elements.
Now if you decide to buy a shackle pin for that shackle and use it, put some Locktite on it!

Default Nice Find!!!

I had to look that one up when I read Salt Knife.

I use knifes daily to open salt bags for peoples water softeners.

Don't think I'd use a $75 knife to rip them open.

Funny story,

I few years ago I had a '79 F100 that was kinda beat up when I got it. It was originally black but mostly surface rust and had a huge dent on the bed from a jack knife with the previous owners Air-stream. Needless to say it wasn't pretty and looked like trouble. A real police magnet.

One day after work I stopped at the local stop and rob to get some suds for the evening. When I left there I went through the lot and past the local watering hole. When leaving the lot and turning onto the avenue I saw the local police going in the other direction. Knowing he picked me for one of the happy hour bunch I hit the gas and scooted towards home. By the time he turned around and caught up I was in front of my house.

I got out of my truck still in the street (as my front gate was closed) and looked up at the house to see my wife standing on the porch and shouted out "Honey I'm home and I brought a friend."

He was all professional and didn't see the humor. He wasted his time on me because I don't drink and drive.

He asked me for my papers then asked me if there were any weapons in my truck. I first told him no followed by a quick after though I said "yes, There's A SALT KNIFE on the front seat.

Thought I was gonna die. Laughing.

I knew he herd it as ASSAULT KNIFE.

After some quick explaining we sorted it all out and he and I went our separate ways.

So, If you get any problems on the way home just remember this little story and be careful how you say things.

Tal about luck, strolling along Luquillo beach plus finding a knife and a good one at that. Better buy a Loteria while you are there.

These are by far my favorite knives! The H-1 steel is incredible, I dive with one, one on my suit at the lake, and one for my gym shorts (sweat won't rust it, see!). Good find! It'll be around for years to come.

A pipe cleaner will probably get any sand out of it.

I have and use a couple of Spydercos. They're good, solid, but lightweight knives.

How in the hell did a "Pacific" knife get to Puerto Rico??? Panama Canal is probably the way it came but who knows....

My guess is, the owner threw it away for lack of a marlinspike.
