Default Colt Detective Special II - 4 inch??

Hey all

Need help with this one due to my lack of experience with Colts. Product code SD1040, DS-II in 38 special, stainless with 4?? Inch barrel

I've only seen a few 3 inchers throughout the years but I have never seen a 4 inch, let alone LNIB. Had to scoop it up. Does anyone have any information about this variation? Research is showing this one is very very scarce, made in the late nineties as a special run. I've always wanted a 4 inch j frame but from my knowledge, Smith never made one. They did make a 5 inch about a decade ago but it had a lock and I felt like 5 inches is just too much for a trail gun. Here are some pics below, I think I like it.

I don't know anything about your Colt but S&W produced a number of J-frame models with 4" barrels.

Thanks for the quick reply db, I should have clarified that I didn't think there were 4 inch J frames in 38 special. I'm pretty sure I've seen a few variants in other calibers but not 38 special. Do you have a picture of one?

Thanks in advance
