They look like pretty nice unusual Sanderson's on it I vote to keep that set on

Great gun Kris - congrats!!
I'd also keep those Sanderson's on it. They give the gun an overall unique look.

Colt Officers Model Heavy Barrel
Wow what a great find. I got lucky and bought a 1935 .38 HB and are having the same problems with grips. I hope I can pick you brain on sights to, I will post pics soon for anybody's help. Sorry, about the ramble but wow what a great piece. And now with front sight and inserts!

your gun has a Roper Rear Sight and a custom (Roper?) hammer. what does the front sight look like?

Colt Officers Model Heavy Barrel
With the new front sight and all that I can gather on Roper sight set up I believe it had the Roper sight by the location of small scratches on barrel about a quarter inch behind the base.
