Just wanted to show my old (1954) SIG P210, standard Swiss army issue. Very well built pistol, extremely accurate, especially considering it is stock with fixed sight. Trigger is ultra light and smooth.

Ah, the Classic 210-2. The finest 9mm service pistol made ever, bar none. They last nearly forever, and they are exceedingly accurate. A friend did some serious range testing one time, and he is a very good shot. I would not have believed it had I not witnessed it, but the result was that in the hands of a really good shot, an adversary at 250 yards was in more danger from the SIG 210 than an AK47.

"Stock with fixed sight"? Yeah, except the Sig P210 was probably the most accurate production handgun ever made.

Hard to beat a pistol with reverse frame rails when it comes to accuracy.

They really are fantastic handguns with the smoothest slide to frame fit I've ever experienced. I had an old Danish 210 some years ago but sold it after losing all interest in the 9mm round.

I've wanted one of those for the longest time. LGS has three in, brand new, $2,395. Too rich for my blood, unfortunately.

The brand new P210s are the German Legend models. Nice guns for sure, but certainly not like the old Swiss models.

I have a P210-6 with adjustable sights. It's a wonderful gun but so is my 952. Not sure which I like best. I just purchased a SIG 226 X5 in 40 S&W. The slide to frame fit is amazing and the trigger is adjustable down to 2.2 lbs. I have a strong preference for single action autos.

The new P210s are easy to identify; they have a beavetail spur at the rear of the frame. Apparently the originals sometimes caused hammer bite.

Yeah, I've got all those too. Its a tough choice.

I've got several P210s, actually. Its one of my favorite 9mms.

Do you have any opinion on the current P210s. I've heard that the triggers are not as good but I've never seen one.

I actually think the triggers on the Legends are very good and the Nitron finish is certainly an improvement over the Swiss models. They just don't have that hand crafted feel of the older models. Its hard to put it into words, but there's a difference. That said, the Legend models are still very good pistols and in some ways better.

Since you love high end single action target pistols, give the Pardini GT9 a chance. Its one of my favorites.

Quite right, makes you wonder why it was not used more by other manufacturers. Costs, no need for accuracy in a service pistol, risk of dirt impairing function?

We pay dearly for our S&W and Colts here in Switzerland, but luckily P210s are plentiful and affordable, lots of military surplus in great condition (they don't get used much). Prices starting at 8-900 $.

They do if you have large hands, experienced it again yesterday at the range, though a very light bite. Still a joy to shoot, such an easy pistol to score with.

Thanks for sharing Classic12. I love the P210s! Mine (#53443) is from 1953. You've inspired me to get some pics taken and post here, hopefully real soon. I don't know for sure, but I don't think mine has ever been fired. It came with original box too. It was a very lucky find. I consider it the finest handgun I own. Wish I had a P210 shooter. Uhhh, can you please send me one of those $800 examples?

Also, a big thanks to our forum managers for creating this forum for other brands. I love having the opportunity to ask questions, post pics and learn about nice guns from other manufacturers, and not to have to go to another website to do so.

I forgot to ask you about the grips on your P210. They look exceptionally nice and look original. Are they? Mine are kind of plain with no interesting wood grain like yours.

They are not original to my gun, but they are original issue for earlier military SIGs, as well as early civilian versions and different city police issues. I bought the pistol 20 years ago from a colleague, major in the Swiss army who was retiring, complete with holster, 2nd mag, cleaning kit etc..; the pistol had the standard black checkered plastic grips as the one on the picture attached. I immediately went to my LGS to get these, back then they were still available new at a reasonable price. I agree they dress the pistol nicely.

The new grips are handsome, but I really kind of like the look with the black plastic.
