There's a Talo edition Redhawk that was posted on their facebook page last week. They're calling it the Kodiak Backpacker Redhawk. Suppose to be a 44 mag with a 2.75" barrel, adjustable sights and round butt grip frame. Here's the teaser pic they released.

It's said there going to offer more barrel lengths and calibers as they go.
I would like a 5 1/2" barrel and 7 1/2" barrel in 357mag & 41mag. Then a redhawk in 454 Casull and In 480ruger. (6)

Ruger did offer a 357 Redhawk for a few years. They're hard to come by these days. I always wondered why they haven't tried something like an 8 shot 357 Redhawk yet. That frame and cylinder are larger than the N frame. The possibility is there.

My bet is a 7 shot 32 on the Single Six frame, as the Bearcat doesn't have the rear grip frame screws like that. 32 H&R would be likely, 327 Fed would be ideal

I like my rugers too. There one tough revolver. Not as good looking as the s&w are but a tad stronger on the stout magnum loads. My security six and speed six rock. My redhawk s in 44 mag in 5 1/2" & 7 1/2" rule the safe here. Throwing in the safe the redhawk in 357 & 41 magnum would be awesome too.
Sorry s&w I'll only jump ship for a little while. I'm not sure if it's true, or hope or hype.

I'll vote for both the Redhawk in .45 Colt and the .327 Single Six (single 7?).
i've almost purchased the 5.5" version of the Redhawk in .45 a couple times, but it was unwieldy for me and didn't point right whenever I handled one. This one might be a little different.

I gave up on waitng for an 8 shot .357 Redhawk, and ended up with a 627. I am happy with it. No way I'd trade it for a Ruger now. Ed

This is pretty decent. The adjustable sights I could live without though; this isn't a long range target gun. Something like the C&S Extreme Duty sights, or the Wiley Clapp GP100 sights would have been perfect.

The standard model Ruger Alaskan has a MSRP of $1079 (which is weird...why not $1080, or $1050?)
I've owned an Alaskan in .44 mag, and it was a very good gun. At 45 oz, not exactly concealed carry friendly!
I like the round butt on this model.

I'm ready and I've been ready for a Redhawk .357 and .41 magnum. They'll go nicely with my Redhawk .44 my 3 GP100's (4" .327, 4" .357, 6" 357) and my super awesome 6.5" S&W 500 Magnum.
Now my biggest problem is what barrel length. I sure do like to the 4" and 5" lengths. But then again that short barrel is reaaaalllll nice too.
Let's get them on the market and worry 'bout length later.

Love the Redhawk but IMHO that frame is way too massive for the .357 or .41. It would be a boat anchor.

I love the heavy frames, even the s&w N frames gets my juices a flowing. I want to feel the weight of the steel in a magnum. I wonder how stout I can load the redhawk in 357 with that extra thick cylinder wall?
Heavier revolvers control the recoil better.

I think a few ruger redhawk s and a few s&w and maybe a few h&r 22's. Just may wrap up my hobby with guns. Well some older 22 rifles.

The .45 Colt in 4 inch are back in production and all over gunbroker. They are selling for about $850.00, retail I believe is about $879.00. Bought this one used for $1000.00 (shipped) TK Custom moon clip conversion, Simply Rugged holster, chesty puller rig, 60 moon clips (.45 Colt and .45 ACP), and an extra grip.

Bumping this up. Over at the rugerforum, Jason who works somehow at Lipsey's says it is not a Blackhawk. He also says that the product announcement will occur after the "Shootist Holiday" whatever that is.
I am praying for their mid size SAA in 327 magnum!!

I emailed Ruger Saturday night begging them to keep the Redhawk a regular production gun. In MA the distributor specials are not approved and we cannot buy them. Makes sense doesn't it. Also mentioning that there are probably thousands of buyers nation wide who will want this gun. Ruger emailed me back Monday morning and said they would forward my email to the marketing dept. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

From discussions on rugerforum.net and rugerforum.com the new item is a single seven in 327 magnum with different barrel options. No new pictures of this, however some of the forum members got to handle and fire it.

Why not make that in 4 inch? According to Ruger's web site, the Redhawk is apparently discontinued, as it is no longer even shown among their double action revolvers.

Discontinuing the Redhawk was a major marketing error in my opinion. I'm sure their logic is that the SRH would fill the bill for any .44 Mag revolver shoppers. Problem is the SRH is one ugly gun. (except the Alaskan) Super strong and super accurate. Most gun owners need a little in the looks department and the looks of the SRH could turn them off. I owned a 9 1/2" SRH for many years. Absolute tack driver. Ended up selling it and keeping my more visually pleasing 1983 Redhawk.
This new proposed offering in the short barrel, round butt with wood grip configuration would be a smashing hit. I'd say sales would be off the charts. I know I'd be in line. I'm hoping the Redhawk comes back as a regular catalog offering.

I want one in .44 mag or .45 Colt. Or, both. Yeah, both would be better. I need a DA .45 revolver, and my .44 RH could use a little brother.
I don't like the look or the balance of the SRH. The barrel looks like an afterthought.

Stealing S&W's thunder?
Wondering if the "semi-announcement" of this gun is Ruger's attempt to steal some of Smith's thunder on the intro of the Model 69. Many of us have wished for a snub version of the 5-shot 69 and this new Ruger snub would have 6 shots.
Penny for anyone's thoughts...

Sounds good to me! Hope they offer it in blue with a 9-1/2" barrel, to go with my .22 and .32H&R.

I agree. The SRH is butt ugly. I was shocked when they discontinued the RH.

No longer advertised on the Ruger web site. May still be some new unsold product floating around the market.

The Redhawk is back on the Ruger web site.
Some 44mag models plus a 45 Colt 4".
I'd love to have one of those 45 Colts.

I'll admit to being Ruger averse until I recently found a used Alaskan at the LGS. I love it, and have enjoyed giving it a range workout with .44 Specials, and carrying it through the woods. I would like to add a 4" RH to the collection at some point, and this proposed snub is mighty nice too. I won't ever replace my Js or Ks with a Ruger SP, but the big Alaskan has cured my Ruger aversion.
