German Bundesgrenzschutz SIG P-210-4
The BGS, now the BundesPolizei (Federal Police) was the first post-WWII West German National Police Force, BGS stands for German Border Police. In the early 1950s they ordered 5,000 Sig P-210 9mm pistols, without a lanyard ring but with a loaded chamber indicator. I bought this last November, on GunBroker, from a dealer in Switzerland. It arrived at my custom's broker (MMBI in Maryland) last week after languishing in the BATFE E-Form Computer System. All MMBI had to do was have the importer's marks engraved on the gun and ship it out to my FFL; they shipped Monday; yesterday around 4pm I was shooting it at my local range! It is an awesome handling pistol; I know, a bit antiquated, 8 round single stack, SAO, but hey its the same age as I am; 60 something!

That's beautiful. There aren't many guns as accurate or as well made. I've always wanted a SIG P210. Nearly impossible to find in my restricted state. I would have to get a C&R.
That was good to see the import markings on the bottom of the mag well, very discrete. Did you buy that from Swiss Dagger?

I had one years ago and foolishly sold it to fund some other
project i thought i had to have at the time. Bad Move on my part.
A wonderful pistol and as accurate as any auto-loader i shot
before or since.
Congrats on your great "New Gun".
Chuck

I think most folks agree that the P210 is one of the finest 9mm semi auto handguns ever made. Form, function, finish, it has it all. I have a P210 civilian model ca 1952. It is without a doubt the finest gun in my collection. One pull back on the slide will tell you novels about this gun.
I'm envious cwo4uscgret you have a P210 to go out and have a lot of fun with. Unfortunately or fortunately my P210 is a safe queen. I hope to chance upon a shooter P210 one day so that I too can test the legendary accurateness of the SIG.

I had chance to buy one in late 60s for something like $365. Didn't as in military and that seemed like a half years pay. So I passed and bought others that eventually exceeded cost of the P210. Now I have too many other safe queens and seeing just a picture of a 210 fills the need. Great find and thanks for the picture of an awesome gun. I suspect you, as new owner, have more battle scars than that beauty. Can I borrow it to at least shoot it?
