Default I hope the seller isn't a member here...

After my last experience with commenting on an auction.

On Gunbroker a 6" Colt Python was offered. Had the 1955-61 style stocks but I don't know the age of the gun. The gun showed a lot of wear and fading of the finish. Rather ugly, actually (for a Python). Bids still got over $1,700 before someone noticed the forcing cone was cracked and the seller withdrew it.

I would have thought maybe $600 for a shooter grade Python. No, over $1,700 and it still had a couple days to go. Wow. I have a 4" nickeled Python that is refinished and i was thinking someone might pay $500 for it but now I am thinking again.

I think even a refinished Python is a $1500 gun these days.

How much am I bid on this fine refinished, magnaported, Herrett's stocked beauty? (I'm kidding, it's not for sale) It came with the factory box indicating it left Hartford as a blued gun.

Target fired at 20 yards, double action, standing. Two initial hand loads fired shortly after I got it:

This 60's Python shoots very accurately and has a wonderful trigger, and the forcing cone is not cracked. Probably worth more than it should be, but still isn't it just an old revolver?...
