My buddy works at the local gun shop.

I went by and he told me I had to feel the action on a pistol he had in the back.

He brought out a used black framed Sig 220 with the slide painted OD green. The finish resembled Springfield's Armory Kote. The OD was shiny with a lot of holster wear.

While the trigger press had some weight (factory springs)…this action was melted butter smooth. Absolutely no hitches and bumps through the entire stroke. The trigger pulled so smooth, the hammer fell at the end of the stroke with ZERO front sight movement using one hand while dry firing.

SA was incredible…..if I had to guess….3.5# press…hardly any creep and the hammer fell.

I don't know who worked on this gun and I am not a Sig Fan, but this action was the best DA/SA I have ever tried…even compared to my PC Smiths (when I had them).

no markings on the gun to indicate who was the smith.

What makes you say it had factory springs?

springs felt heavy on DA.

I have no real time behind a Sig DA/SA so that may be the norm or heavier.

My first press was heavy but very smooth and as I pressed it more….I got used to it.

I was once used to a SW PC DA/SA and toying around I put the lightest Wolf mainspring and trigger returned spring in my DPA and CQB. Even though I recall this being lighter to press in DA, it was the smoothness that made the Sig shine.

The slide finish was very slick. I don't know what OD finish that was, but it was slippery.

Maybe it didn't even have any gunsmith work? A higher round count would help to smooth out the action and trigger pulls. If it did have work done it isn't hard to improve a number of DA/SA pistols. My personally worked over CZ 75 SP01 now has very smooth 6 lb DA and 3 lb SA trigger pulls. If I started out with a CZ Shadow it would be even better since it doesn't have a firing pin block.
