Default Henry Big Boy

My LGS called and told me they had one in 44 mag coming in 7--10 days. I went and put money down so it will be mine soon.

Very nice rifle, I have A Henry Golden Boy in .22WMR and am very pleased with it quality and functioning, the company has really good quality control and excellent customer service.
I believe you will be very pleased with the Henry and it will serve you well for deer hunting out to about 100 yards, great brush gun.
Do you have a .44 mag revolver to match the rifle?
Good luck and safe hunting!

I've taught kids and adults to shoot with one of Henry's 22lr carbines...a friend cut down a spare stock to an 11 inch LOP so it fits kids and short statured adults.
My kids love their "cowboy" gun!

Rangerpat Yes I have a Ruger SBH and I load for it. In MI. we are now allowed to use these rifles for deer in shotgun areas.

That's a great combo for hunting Model 19 6", I have a Ruger SBH 7 1/2" barrel revolver that I use to shoot wild hogs.
Are you going to use the same hand load for both firearms? I always liked that idea, same round for both guns, just like the old cowboys did with the .44-40.

I have a 44 Big Boy, what an exquisite piece of craftsmanship it is. Mine was a gift and is just too nice and too heavy to hunt with, IMO. I enjoy shooting both 44 Special and 44 Magnums, but my preference is the 44 Special. Good Luck and Good Shooting.

I have a Big Boy in .45 Colt that my wife gave for a graduation gift when I completed my MS degree. I would have to dig out my diploma to know what year that was. I would guess it was about fifteen years ago. It is a beautiful firearm that was made in America with American components. The wood to metal fit is superb and the metal and wood finishes are perfect. I have greatly enjoyed this rifle and I think you will be very happy with it. My experience communicating with the company was excellent. I never received an email from a firearms company owner in response to some comments before. I had written to express my happiness with the rifle.

I bought a Henry Golden Boy in 44 mag. it is a favorite rifle to shoot. The only problem I have with the gun is the sights. I replaced the rear sight with a Skinner Peep sight. The Skinner greatly improve shooting. I like the heft of the gun it helps reduce felt recoil somewhat.

Rangerat; I will need to load test loads to see what works. It would be great if I can shoot one load in both.
