Default My Customized Kimber 1911 - Thought I'd Share

I thought I'd Share some Pics of My Customized Kimber 1911.

It Started life as a Regular old Stainless II:
Steel Frame
Steel Slide
.45acp

I brought it over to JoJos Custom Gun Works in Southington CT for some Custom Work:
- Full Carry Melt
- Cherry Wood Grips with three ball serations
- Customized Back Strap
- Customized Front Strap
- Novak Style Night Sights

I liked the look of the Kimber Aegis Grips with the Straight Serrations, so that was my inspiration on this Firearm.

I hope you like it, here are some Pics:

First Shot with two 8 round Mags, my Maxpedition gun rug, and my Kershaw Folder:

Next Shot shows the Ball Serrations on the Front Strap:

Next Shot shows the Ball Serrations on the Back Strap:

And lastly a closer shot of the Side View:

I hope you all like and approve!

Thanks guys.

It was a long time coming.

I had wanted a 1911 since I was a boy and watched Magnum p.i.

Long/short of it, I saved quarters nickels and dimes and dollar bills for quite a few years.

In the meantime I took an interest in Kimbers.

I loved the grips on the Aegis, but wanted a .45acp.

So I got a baseline Stainless II, and had the shop near me create grips, de-horn it, and Mill the Serrations in the Front Strap and Back Strap with the Aegis being the inspiration. I recently had Night Sights put on it and they show up real nice.

The only other change I may make is shorter, solid trigger.

It is not an EDC by any stretch, but I do carry it from time to time.

When I ever I go to the range, which isn't often enough, I usually bring it and put a few mags through it.
