Default Beretta Elite II 9mm

About 6 years ago I had a Beretta Elite II 9mm, bought it new for close to $675 out the door. At the time I felt it was a nice, fun gun, pretty accurate and enjoyed range time with it. A friend was really hot for it so after a few months of badgering me I sold it to him.

Fast forward to last weekend. I picked up a one year old full size M&P 9mm last month and put in the Apex duty/carry kit. Also added a front night sight and a textured backstrap from member streakpi.

We meet at the range for a fun session. I've been thrilled with the M&P. After a few mags he offers up the Elite for me to run a few rounds through.

I must say, I don't know if it was just me or what but I did MUCH better with the M&P than with the Beretta-I was getting much smaller groups with the M&P using the same ammo (Federal 115gr fmj).

He said he's been offered up to $1200 for the Beretta!!! I know it hasn't been offered for a number of years but that was quite surprising. I know it'a all about "rarity" but still, for a shooter I couldn't be happier with the M&P.

Anyone here have the Elite II? Thoughts on it?

I'm not familiar with the Elite II but I recently added a full size nine and ended up with the 92FS over the M&P. Did a side by side and the Beretta just fit me better and has a much better trigger. I like my Shield but just wasn't impressed with the full size. Guess that's why there are so many different brands.

Default Elite 2

I have no doubt that he has been offered $1,200 for it.
They are in demand by Beretta collectors.

I owned one about 10+ years ago. Really liked it. Wish I still had it. But for $1200, I'd probably sell it if I still had it.

IMHO they are the best of the Beretta 92 line....... designed to compete in IDPA they are a "bit big for CC"...LOL.... but with the Brigadier slide, D spring and G safety + other more cosmetic features they add up to a "very good" sexy off the shelf gun!!!!!!!

Compared to other variation of the 92 there weren't that many made...... and have gotten crazy expensive.....$1000-1200.

But so has everything else..........the M version of the 92, a compact single stack; over the past 10 years has been in great demand with Beretta shooters/collectors........when they were still being imported LGS almost couldn't give them away new for $360 now they are going used for $600-800.

I knew of one "cop shop" where I got my first M in 1993 still had 6-7 left in the vault (from the same batch) 10 years later ....... and sold me my second for the same price I'd paid 10 years earlier........

I've got 2 Elite IIs that I would not sell for $1,200 nor would I buy another one for $1000.....today. My motto lately is "Boy; glad I bought mine X years ago!"

If we all liked and shot the same guns well ......I guess we'd all still be shooting 1872 Colt single action army revolvers......LOL

As a recent new member of the Beretta fan camp, I really wish they would come back with the EliteII. I would buy a couple for sure if they did.
As far as too big to conceal, whatever. You just have to want to. I'm six feet with a 33-34" waist, and can conceal mine whether it's church attire or shorts and a t shirt.

" a bit big for concealed carry....".....yes you can .....

But the 92 Type M (8+1) I mentioned or the standard Compact ( 13+1 rds.) or even the Centurion (15-18+1) are all easier to conceal....

I've been doing Beretta concealed carry since 1988 when I got my first 92 Compact.

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses. The E II certainly is a huge improvement over the standard 92/M9. For me the M&P fits better, sits lower in my hand and the accuracy is equal or better.

The E II is one good looking pistol without a doubt.

I have had one for years, it is my favorite of the double action 92 series. I don't think I could part with it, but if someone had $1200 cash, I would be tempted.
