Cool An “Oldie, but Goodie”… OM SBH

I just love the Blackhawks and Super Blackhawks, especially the three screw variety. So, it was too much to pass up when I came across this one at the Frisco Gun Club, last weekend. It was a consignment sale; after a close inspection and a call on my behalf to the seller with my offer, we struck a deal. I’ve had a few of these, and this makes just two that I currently own. No box, and it was priced accordingly. In near-pristine condition, showing excellent high polish finish with zero finish loss.

I hope y’all enjoy!
-Bill

Ahhh!My first handgun.Bought it in the mid '70s.
I am now thinking of thinning down my collection so that my beloved ones won't have so many to sell and I can tell you that this one is not about to go away soon.

Very nice.

Recently I was leaning in the passenger window of a friends pickup, chattering about something. I noticed the beat up grip of a revolver poking up between the seats. "What are you carrying around"? He pulls up what turns out to be a Single Six in 22, in very, very well used and carried condition.

While I'm admiring that, he's fishing between the seats and comes up with an old Blackhawk (Super? Don't really know) in 41 Mag. Equally well loved and carried and used. There might even have been some bluing left on it. He tells me how many bears he'd taken with it, extolling the virtues of the caliber. I wish I'd have gotten a picture - that gun just looked like it had killed a lot of bears.

I imagine they'll pass down to his kids but that didn't stop me from reminding him that if he decided to sell ...

I shot one of those the other day for the first time, only it was near 50 years younger and stainless. What a shooter! That is one nice gun you have there. Ruger, S&W, and Colt are three reasons why revolvers will never fade away! Very nice gun there, did I mention that!?

The Blackhawk in .41 Remington Magnum is another one of the Ruger "greats!"

Here's my New Model Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum. Not as old as some
of those posted previously, but it gets the job done. The replica of the
Lawrence "Keith" Model 120 holster was made by Henry Cassaday. The
handle on the Bowie was made by Phil. Not much for looks, but Hell for
strong. The belt was made by David Keith. The Open Road by Stetson.
Holstory was co-authored by John Witty and Red Nichols.

That’s a handsome assemblage!… And, the wood grain looks excellent on your SBH, too.
