Shiny Chrome Skinny Necked Black eagles were next on all Old model guns Late 50's - early sixties
The chromed eagles started around 1967 if I remember right and were termed as squashed chickens by the collectors and continued through the early 70's on all old models.
New Model stuff I am clueless as I never collected them.

Thank you sir. I wonder if anyone can dig up a photo example of the frosted, the shiney and the squashed so I can be sure to know what I am looking at. All of mine have, what I would consider, the shiney chrome with skinney neck eagle. My Rugers are 1958 (.44 mag), 1971 (.45 Colt), 1972 (.357 mag)
The other question I have is, did Ruger use all the same wood in their grips or are there different factory woods? What wood did they use and can they be refinished like you can a pair of factory S&W stocks?
