Default My Birthday Present (to myself)

Picked this up for my birthday (today) and took it out today with my 17yo son to see how it shoots. It's a lightly used Windham Weaponry VRX-SS in .223/5.56mm. We were shooting at 50 yards (to make sure we were on paper) using Federal XM-193.

My first five rounds are the ones just below the black target. His are the ones IN the target. Damn he's getting good.

Frosty;
you always get what you want for your birthday when you buy the gifys yourself. Great selection ! (and great shooting) Good luck with the new gun.

I love buying myself presents. Only way to get what you really want.

Congrats on the purchase and range outing.

Happy belated Birthday! I learned from an older-wiser friend to buy myself birthday presents, usually stainless; 64, 686, and a Rolex. And not stainless when that is what presented itself: a Superpose 12 and two years later a Superpose 20. You got to enjoy your Birthday! Ivan

Happy Birthday and a nice present you bought yourself. I like buying my own BD presents too. The nicest was the unfired Model 57 I bought myself for my 50th BD. Wife had a BD party for me so set it out in it's wood box for all to see and admire. Nice to have gun loving family and friends.
