Second CZ 83
Last week, while minding my own business at my LGS, one of the counter guys pulled out this gem from the display case. He told me, that since I already had a CZ 83 chambered in .32 ACP, that I would be doing it a favor by bringing home this one to keep it company; that being a CZ 83 chambered in .380.
It went home with me that day. I took it to our club, cleaned it, and ran about 100 rounds of a combination of reloads, factory, and re-manufactured. It went after everything like a starved dog, and not a single malfunction. I took it with me yesterday, and after shooting some shotgun, I put another 100 through it; again with no malfunctions. The recoil is mild, and it's really fun to shoot.
It was made in late 2005, but not purchased until April 2007. It evidently sat in the box for most of that time, since I couldn't find any marks on the breach face. It's a bit heavy, but it will get some carry time along with my three other .380's. Here's a picture:

How much did you give for one in that shape? iammo.com has them for $211 - finish looks to be 85% or better.

Sweet find. The CZ 83 model was just discontinued by CZ. It's an awesome pistol. These can be found still in New unfired condition here. I find the most purchase them and never fire them. I really like the double action on the first shot. Don't over look the Czech surplus military CZ 82 too.
I waited many decades to purchase a pistol in 9mm luger. I was browsing in a LGS and seen a brand new, unshot CZ 85db sitting in the used case. It was marked $300. She's a twin to the CZ 75 Except it's amberdexterious. It came with the case, shipping box and paperwork. After shooting her I looked at the CZ 83's and the rest is history. These CZ pistols are a quality built firearm.
I purchased a brand new CZ 83 in 9mm makarov. It was purchased and the new owner didn't understand about the polygonal rifling. He purchased it, took it home, seen the missing rifling as we know it, returned it without firing it. I purchased a "used" cz 83 that was driven in the car twice for $220.
The CZ 82 can still be found between $200-$250.

I'd sure like to find one (CZ82) in that price range. That is, I'd like to see one in that range at a time when I have the money. As it is, I haven't seen any under $300 for about three years. Nor have I had the money to spend, so it's academic anyway.
