Default Help identifying this revolver

The markings on the frame are O.F.J. Miami, FL and Sy00242 (probably a S/N) above the cylinder. My first guess would be some kind of Saturday Night Special. Trying to get a good photo.

Yeh..Looks like a Rohm/RG to me.

Years ago...I had a little primitive RG .22 revolver...was a surprisingly good shooter!

Looks like it needs a little JB Weld...

Many Rohm revolvers lasted surprisingly well, that is why they are still around. Whatever else one says about them, they did have to pass proff testing in Germany.

I'd like to get it and try to restore it. Talking with the original owner about it. Hoping they might give it to me. Want to learn a little gunsmithing.

I had a different model 38 I found left when someone move from my apartments. It was locked up, so I gave it to an armorer friend of mine. He had it working is about 10 min. I have 2 still a 22 Short 2" and a 22 LR 4". I keep the 4 " in my BOB with a few boxes of ammo. While nowhere close to my Model 17, it shot better than my original model Bobcat. The short is only good for opossums at 2' as far as I can tell. Ivan

A 'Rohm' (RG,,Rohm Gesellshaft or something like that).
Or maybe an 'Arminius', that was another common import in the 50's and 60's before the 68GCA shut them out in many of their configurations.
Arminius revolvers were also made in Germany by Weirauch (sp?).

I'm thinkin' it's an Arminius in one of it's many different styles. The importer I don't recognize. There were many before the 68 Gun Control Act. and laws pertaining to bringing these in were few.
When importers changed, very often the gun model would change so there's all sorts of them around.

Seems as though many of the cheapy Arminius designs used the shell design for the frame.
Cast zinc or Zymac frames weren't uncommon and usually got the 'pot metal ' name.

These and many other similar pistols from Italy and Spain were the poster children for the anti gun crowd in the 60's. Labled as the 'Saturday Night Specials' they were seen as one of the main causes of all evil in the USA.
So we have the importation point system for handguns now.

The markings should be Q.F.I., which theoretically stands for Quality Firearms Imports. When the old F.I.E., which primarily imported German Arminius/Titan Tiger revolvers and Italian Tanfoglio pistols and later assembled guns in Miami from largely imported parts went out of business, they reformed as two companies. Heritage Manufacturing made guns and QFI was the importer.
The cast zinc alloy frame is cracked; This gun is in no way a candidate for repair.
