Default Ruger LCR 9MM

Saw one today. I'm intrigued. May have to buy one.

I've heard that it needs moon clips. For some, that's a hassle they'd prefer not to deal with.

Except for the S&W 547, Charter Arms Pitbull, and Ruger Blackhawk Convertible, just about all revolvers chambered for rimless cartridges use moonclips to be able to extract the empties. No one should be surprised that the new Ruger uses them, all of the other 9mm revolvers they have made did. You can shoot the LCR 9mm without them, because the round headspaces on the case mouth, just like a 940, but you have to pick out the empties or use something to poke them out of the cylinder.

Personally I've never found moonclips to be a hassle, certainly no more than magazines are for autos.

Moon clips for rimless cartridges are easier to load than those for rimmed cartridges. Either way they are a good thing, IMHO.

Big yawn! I have several friends with 38's and 357's. My S-I-L has a 22 and a 22 mag. What could possible be exciting about a 9 mm plastic revolver? Ivan

PS Question, Are the triggers getting rougher in general or was that just a batch or 2?
