Default Serial number information

Looking for serial number information for two handguns. A Savage Model 1917 and a Whitney Wolverine. I have tried the Internet and the Savage site without success. Just wondering if anyone here has a suggestion.

Thank you in advance.

On the Savage sight, they used to have the name and address of a man who provides a "factory" letter with pertinent information. If it's no longer listed on their site, PM me and I'll send it to you.

Not sure about the Whitney Wolverine.

The old aluminum Whitney or the polymer new model ? Try Wikipedia. That's what I found with a Whitney Wolverine search. Nothing about serial numbers , but it had dates of mfg. and number made.

wetdog,

It is the older Whitney, aluminum cast. I did look at Wikipedia and got the information you describe. I was just hoping someone might have a little more. There are amazing folks on this board with so much knowledge I am trying to utilize them as much as I can.
