Default Ruger Single Seven or Eight?

Several .327 threads prompted a look at the (pretty small) market for a .327 FM production revolver.

I've always been intrigued by the .32x rounds, but never bought anything chambered for them.

At this point, looking to get my feet wet and experiment with a new (to me) caliber. No worries about it being obsolete or not. I think that topic is being covering well on the other thread.

Ruger appears to be the only reasonable production revolver at a good price. In searching, I found the model 0353, 8-round and the Single Seven 816x.

Plenty of the Single Sevens, but what happened to the 8-round 0353? Was that a limited run or just a year or two old?

Thanks!
