I just traded into this one. I'm gonna give it to my nephew for Christmas:



Its a neat little German-made .22 caliber MP-5 look-alike. It came with 3 mags - a 10 rounder and two 22 rounders.



The can up front is just a cover on a skinny 16" barrel. The sights are a little different than a real MP-5's, but they're usable enough:



I took it out and put 100 rounds of precious ammo through it with nary a bobble. Most were fired as fast as I could pull the trigger, because it seemed silly to shoot it any other way.

I have an MP5/10 issued to me. The .22 is much lighter, but the feel is very similar.



I'd be interested to hear about anyone who has one and particularly what accessories seemed worthwhile. There are a ton of them available. I may go with the retractable stock, since the standard one seems a little flimsy. I've also read replacing the screws and the rail is advisable.

Its a neat gun - I may look for one for myself.

I've wanted a GSG-522 (would like a mp-5 too!) but have been filling out the more practical parts of my collection.

Bought this one for my son for Christmas 2008. I drove to Athens, GA to buy it as there were none to be had in metro Atlanta. The forearm, barrel shroud, and price have changed since then. The only accessory my son added was a three point HK sling and several more magazines. It eats Remington sub-sonic ammo like candy. Off a bench, I have seen Chris shoot matchbook size groups at 25 yards. He has never wanted to mount any optics on it. Rapid fire will produce groups slightly bigger than a baseball.

This GSG-5 is as much fun as his Rossi 62 carbine that I bought him twenty-three years ago. It goes through ammo lots faster though. If GSG ever makes a pink version of this, I will buy it for my daughter.

It would be fun to turn it into a SD. A can that big in diameter would be very quiet with a 22LR.

I have seen various sales/price drops on these recently.

I have often thought of getting one and filing a Form 2, then making it select fire.

I fell in love with the MP5/10 about 20 years ago. I played with them when they came into the Miami office. True 10MM ammunition fired from a 9" barrel makes an extremely effective carbine. I was not thrilled with the 0-1-2 fire control group, but that is bureaucrats

Finally I have one of my own. My fire control group is 0-1-Full, I would not mind finding a 0-1-2-Full fire control group. Though it was better when the supply of 190 JHP ammunition was being covered by someone else.



I have always been a big 10MM fan. When the Bureau transitioned to the 1076, I brought home several 5 gallon buckets of once fired brass. With 2000 rounds allocated to transitioning training for each agent (1 week), there was LOTS of brass. Now I am really thankful for all that brass.

They are neat little guns to be sure. I have one of the GSG-5's and as long as you load the mags one round at a time under light tension it runs just fine with fair good accuracy. It's been awhile since I field stripped mine but as I recall when you pull the bolt/carrier asy out, the ejector which is held in place by the bolt/carrier can and will fall out, keep an eye on that critter. The only accessory's on mine is a scope mount with a red dot sight. Overall I'm happy with mine, enjoy yours!
