Default Help: Taurus .22 Revolver Springs?

cliff notes:

I just bought a M941 and polished all the inner contact surfaces.

It's much smoother.

BUT, as everyone knows the action is EXTREMELY STIFF.

NOW I'M GOING TO MESS WITH THE HAMMER SPRING.

I'll either modify it or replace it.

Who has experience (other than Youtube/forum chat) with hand's on 941 spring work WHILE AVOIDING LIGHT STRIKES?

thanks

Well, there are spring kits for small frame Taurus revolvers, and maybe your luck will be better than mine was with the rimfires.
Springs for TAURUS Revolvers

I now only use S&W revolvers in classes.

Thanks

So, you tried tuning a Taurus M941 with springs and none worked? If so, which ones did you try?

I'm not clear on what you meant.

And, yes, I would use nothing but S&W revolvers in my classes, but many of my students cannot afford a S&W .22 WMR.

I'm not clear on what you meant. Got rid of the Taurus 94. I never used it for students.

Here's the deal on that with me. Students can use their own guns if they work. 3 jams and out of the class. Then they can use MY S&Ws, to finish the class.
If they buy a piece of ...... they can't shoot, then they are going to have to solve that problem on their own. I pay a licensed gunsmith to do any repairs on guns I loan the students, other than things like cleaning and changing recoil springs on semi-autos.

Do you have any idea how much liability you are buying by modifying a handgun and allowing a student to shoot it? NRA and my insurance company seriously frown on reloads and bubba smithing.

THIS IS NOT AN NRA CERTIFIED CLASS

Rather than go down a training rabbit trail, I'm just asking if anyone has had success smoothing the action of a Taurus M941.

thanks

I'll edit my first post.

I do not believe that anyone is marketing spring kits for the 941 revolver. It is my understanding that the geometry of the 94/941 action does not lend itself very well to creating a reliable and lightened trigger. If you have stoned the sear and polished all the bosses and contact points, I think that you are about as good as you can make it. As an alternative, the Taurus 990 has a far better action out of the box and will smooth itself nicely through use. I know this because I own one.
