Default Colt 3rd Generation (?)1860 Army .44

The usual bigfoot sighting grade kindle photo...

Cylinder has been turned, I do not think it was fired. The flyer in the box shows 1994 models. It was tagged at $399. I traded my unfired Pietta .36 for what I had in it, plus some random knives. I paid around 90 dollars out of pocket.

The box says signature edition. On the backstrap is a gold filled Sam Colt signature. Everything on the gun says Colt, there are no Italian proofmarks.

Lately I have become interested in Cap N Ball revolvers.

What exactly do I have, was it meant to a wall hanger or can I shoot it? Should I shoot it or is it a collectible?

Google turns up prices of twice what it was marked, is that true for this model?

Does it count as a "real" Colt?

I have a .44 1858 Remington by Pietta, so I have lead balls, Pyrodex and caps already.

Very nice! Did you get that at Rocky Mountain? Never owned one of those Colt recreations and I don't know much about them, but I always liked the looks of 'em! I'd say you got a real good find there!

I found it at Bighorn Traders, downtown. Saturday morning my wife lets me escape for a bit and wander. I hadn't been there for a bit, and saw the Colt this morning. Once I got to think about it, decided to swap for as I had anbox of knives to clean out anyway.
