Strange Rifle
Hi:
Closet cleaning I discovered a brown cardboard box with "LEGACY"" stamped on the outside top.
On the box end is "Daisy M2211 .22 Single Shot 059. A second tag is "Model 2211 Serial AA0021043 Single Shot: Wood Stock"
Inside is a single shot .22 rifle. On the right side rear breech is "DAISY MFG CO. ROGERS, AR. U.S.A."
On the left side rear breech is "MODEL 2201 CAL. .22 S-L-LR
The box and rifle is NIB
What do I have and is there any value ?
Thanks,
Jimmy

The 2013 SCoF says:
Quote:
Bolt-action single shot rifle, 19" barrel, octagon shroud, ramp blade front sight, adjustable notch rear sight, walnut stock, adjustable trigger, weight ~6.5lbs.
|
They say $200 for NIB. But I'd say it should be worth a bit more than that.
Hope this helps.

Daisy (The BB folks) started making 22s for a time. 1968-1991
The 2211 (wood stock) 88-91
2201 is synthetic
100% value is $175 per Blue Book. I'd suspect it'd bring more on Gunbroker

Cannot help with value but they are quite good shooters. I bought one the repeaters with a Ruger style rotary magazine for my Daughters first rifle about twenty five years ago and found it to quite a good little gun. Oh yeah, she still has it and the trophy she won with it at a field day competition.

Is it wood or plastic stock?
My first comment might be too high, I may have been thinking of the double barrel Daisy.

jimmyj, do you mean to tell me you didn't know that was in the closet? Come on now, you're surely not that forgetful.

Good God! Maybe Jimmy has too many guns?
I might occasionally forget where I put one, but never forget that I have one.

Daisy made these from approx. 1988-91.
2201- Bolt action single shot
2202- Bolt action 10 shot rotary magazine
2203- Semi auto 7 shot magazine.
All the above had plastic stocks with adjustable butt stocks in black and brown.
With the wood stock they were:
2211
2212
2213
with this number on the box label. The receiver's still had 2201,2202 and 2203. Magazines are hard to find for the repeater models, especially the 10 shot rotary for the bolt action 2202/2212.
Check for a spanner wrench inside the box in a plastic pouch or under a piece of brown shipping tape.
It is used to remove the barrel.

Hi:
We moved from a 18 room house into a 9 room house. Plus we have 60 years of "Stuff" (trash). My Father was a "Gun Guy" plus 6 children also. I was also until 2005 when it was "Discovered" that I had the "BIG C" and had possibly 5 to 7 years left. First my eye sight went, and then my hearing went and then my fine moter skills THEN the Medical Folks decided that the Chemo was doing me worst than the disease and so a new type was tried. Being unable to afford a Gun Safe, My Wife has "Stashed" (hidden) firearms everywhere. (if wondering why I was in the closet, I an't telling)

Hi:
Mine is a single shot bolt action. I was unaware that Daisy made anything but BB guns.

Hey there, If I had it available I could compare them but my Daughter has it with her at McGuire AFB NJ. If I remember right it was very similar but I would doubt interchangeable.

Hi:
Moved back in May. The last winter at 9 below zero was a bit too cold for this guy. Plus the U.T. Medical said my case was not improving plus the old ticker started acting up.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it all works out. It was a cold winter last year, especially for us flatlanders!

Similar yes, interchangeable no. Someone on the Daisy Forum tried to fit a 10/22 mag. to a Daisy 2202. Spent a lot of time and it did not work. Ruined a 10/22 mag. in the process.
