Default Splendid old Stallion

This Colt Government model had been in my possession for some time, and the finish was in very rough shape, i.e. there really wasn't a finish.

It had been sitting in my safe for the last 12-13 years.

I wasn't sure what to do with it, but one day inspiration struck me. I was going to get it re-finished.

It came out really nice, and I reconciled re-finishing it, as opposed to keeping it original, as the person who had it in their possession would have approved of fixing it up. A gun that served this great country as well as it had, deserved to be returned to what it could be.

These pictures don't do it justice, it looks nicer than I have been able to capture.

I didn't take any before pics but here are the after pics:

Thanks

My Father was a Naval Combat Photographer. I believe that is the light meter he had in the pacific, and that case knife was his as well.

The Colt was not his, but he had a similar one in the Navy, so I figured the gun, the meter and the knife wouldn't mind snapping a few pics together, as they have common friends.

I have seen pics of pocketknives and 45s all over.
I don't recall the last time I saw a photo of a light meter.

They have done quite a few other things for me as well.

They do Top Notch 1911s, ARs, Glocks and a lot of other things in between.
