Default Stoeger/Uberti 1858 barrel marks

Got my 1858 New Army .44 blue steel 8 in. revolver today. Noticed some rolled barrel marks. CM also CIP(Over)PIN on the side of the barrel. Italian date stamp for 2014 may be CI. I was curious about the CM. It took me a while to get the cylinder back in. Got to do it with a twist to get over the cylinder advance pawl. I am looking into what Cimmeron does with the wolff springs. Supose to hear the difference when comparing the sound of spinning the cylinder if a Cimmeron vs. a Stoeger in half cock. Was wondering if this was spring related. Like to get to know my pistols before loading up and firing. Any knowledge on this would be appreciated.

CI is the Italian date code for 2012.

CM is the Italian date code for 2014.

CIP is the European standard for measuring pressure.

PN means proof tested for black powder. I am thinking the "PIN" you mentioned is actually "PN".

The Wolff springs are no big thing; they are easy to change out if your gun does not have them. I prefer the standard full-power springs.

Uberti and Pietta are different manufacturers, and their parts are not readily interchangeable and probably of slightly different design specs and manufacturing. That would probably account for the different sounds of operating the actions, but I don't know for sure.

Who manufactured your gun?

It is an Uberti distributed by Stoeger purchased from Sportsman's Guide. Got it during a buyers club double discount. I have picked up a howell 45 conversion cylinder in stainless for it also. thanks for the stamp info.
