Default Colt Cobra Value?

Do any of you guys know about these guns? Seller says its from 1974 and unfired. It comes with the a box and stuff but i don't think the box matches the gun. He's asking $600. Thanks!

If box doesn't match; little value, you mention 1974; that is second issue Cobra which started in 1973 - 1981. It should also have the shrouded ejector rod. Check this link out; ColtFever. If described accurately and correct grips $600 seems reasonable. Good luck

Fair price, but no better, if you ask me. They typically seem to sell in the mid 500.00's.

The second generation Cobra certainly is a very comfortable snub.

Depending on finish (blued vs. nickel) condition and accessories 2nd generation Colt Cobras go anywhere from $375 - $600 here.

Mine is a first issue and the alloy was almost completely white with extensive muzzle and cylinder wear when I bought it about 8-10 years ago for $135+/-. I would say they are a great carry gun in any condition, but unless you are a collector, don't pay collector prices. Get a field gun at field prices! Ivan

If unfired I think it's a decent deal. A perfect Cobra is a rare one, and isn't going to lose any value. Colt snubby aficionados drool over Cobras.

Here's my everyday carry, also a 1974 and far from unfired. Something about that little horsey on the left side.

Low to mid 500s would be about right, just recently paid $545 for my 1966 edition, 97% finish.
Neat revolvers, mines quite the shooter too.

Unfired for $600 is a pretty good deal IMO. I've had a couple of Cobra's myself. When I want a pocket gun, that's the one I grab.

Evidently the bidders at the gun auction I was at last Sat. don't agree, as a NIB one went for $1300. Detective Specials went for $600 and $675, and were about 95%.

I am looking at a colt agent with an asking price of 450 which is the poor man's version of the Cobra and it is in well used condition. So 600 is not bad......can't hurt to negotiate. Good luck.

The prices on Cobras (like all Colts) are on the way up. Around here $600 would be a great deal.
