Default VG10 vs 8Cr13MoV

I know VG10 is superior, but is there a noticeable difference between these 2 steels? I was looking at the Spyderco Tenacious ($35 shipped) and Spyderco FRN Delica 4 ($58 shipped). Blade sizes aside, I didn't know if the FRN Delta 4 is worth the extra money.

Thank you!

I think you mean Delica 4. I've had both, gifted the Tenacious and kept the Delica. Both are flat grind though the Delica is offered in a sabre grind and I don't know if you will really see that much difference between the steels in normal use.

The bigger deal for me was liner lock or back lock. My preference was the back lock on the Delica along with the VG-10. There's also a fair bit of difference in how they feel so handling both before purchase would be a good deal if possible.

Thank you for your input! And I corrected my original post to from Delta to Delica.

The Spydercos I've owned--three Enduras, two of which I gave to my sister, who is disabled and resolutely refuses to own a gun or pepper spray--were all VG10, and of course were back locks. I thought the combination, with the textured scales, was excellent. The VG10 will take and hold a ferocious edge.
