I won't go into some long winded oration or droning in depth review...so I've had 'em a while and like 'em a lot.

One often resides in the night stand, the other in my pants. Both are accurate, reliable, and trouble free, though the 1911 will develop rust rather quickly when sweat on.

Eventually I will get a polymer framed gun as an all purpose gun but according to my wife it's not a priority

Feel free to share.

Even though I own several pistols, there are two that I just like. I don't shoot them the best, nor is there anything special about either. Both are stock pistols.

It would have to be this lowly CZ82. It's accuracy amazes me and it's never missed a beat. For $219 plus shipping how could you not love it?

No longer own any automatics; but of the ones I have owned my favorites were a pre-B CZ75, a 469, and a second-generation G19. A second-gen G22 would get honorable mention.

VERY hard choice, but these ae the ones I can say I like to shoot the best.

1. Old C 33. I campaigned this pistol for two years on the Army Air Defense Command pistol team. Probably put over 10,000 rounds of hardball through it. Still accurate and wonderful trigger pull.

2. My old S&W 41 in its original box. Shot it along with old C33; best target 22 I could ever find. Some years ago it began to have feeding and ejection jams so I replaced all the springs, no more jams.

3. Colt Series 70, my go-to gun around the house and when I travel. I have two slides for it, one with night sights. Eats anything, even light loads with cast 180 gr SWCs.

4. Model 39 no dash. I have a few of them, but this is my carry gun. Has MMC sights, and is accurate and reliable. Great for plinking in the desert.

5. Cone hammer Mauser C 96, SN 5126. A real hunk of iron you can hold in your hand. Great fun to shoot at long range, like shooting rocks in the desert. The "Mauser Cartridge .303" indicates sale in Britain.

Boy......... tough

Been carrying some form of 3913/14 since the early 90s.

But love my Beretta 92 Compact M 8 round single stack w/ a 4.2" barrel

Those lead me to like my PC and factory 6906/04s , 13 round Beretta 92 Compact and Beretta Centurion

And always a soft spot for the Browning Hi-Power, Smith 915 and 5906

BHP and 39-2 for me, as well. They're the prettiest pistols I own.

SIG X-5 All Round. Came in .40 S&W a round I simply seldom use. So had the SIG Armorer down in TX fit both a 9mm and a .357 SIG barrel from Bar-Sto. As well as a complete action tune and fiber optic frt sight.

The action job really helps to make it one of THE easiest autos I have ever had to shoot accurately and quickly.

The last duty gun I carried, my SIG 229R in .357 SIG. Totally reliable. Powerful round with a dozen of them in the magazine. What NOT to like for a CCW or duty gun? I was gifted this by my fellow Officers when I retired and had it cerrakoted as the finish was pretty shot. I've been a fan of the SIG 220's , 226's and the 229's for years. Great pistols.

A trio of favorites during a Range session. The full sized 1911 is a Wilson Combat CQB. The Commander sized 1911 is an Ed Brown with the Bobcat frame mod. BOTH of these .45's have been totally reliable. I can't recall any failures, even with light handloads. Accuracy is better than dedicated target 1911's I shot years back in Bullseye. Talking sub 2" at 25yds, consistently.

The BHP is an older gun worked over years back by Wayne Novak. A 9mm with Heinie sights, matte blk cerrakote, different trigger, Davidson warthog grips, etc. Simply feels great in the hand and has always been reliable. Another one of those "what not to like" pistols.

My other favorite would have to be either one of my M-41 Smiths or most ANY of my High Standard target .22's. A bit finicky with diet. Require some attention to run well. But ridiculously accurate and fun to shoot.

Favorite auto pistols here's a few I liked over the decades.

1. 1990 SA SERIES 90 5" 1911a1 in 45acp/black park, really Purdy.
2. 2004 SA 1911a1 USGI-MIL SPEC 5" 45acp/ park.
3. COLT SERIES 80, 1911a1 / 5" / 45Acp nickel really freaking Purdy.
4. 2004 AO 1911a1 WW2 US ARMY COPY 5" / 45acp park. The BEST 1911 USGI CLONE MADE TODAY.
5. CHINESE NORINCO 1911a1 5" / 45ACP. Blue. BUILT, TWEEKED, RACE GUN. ALL FORGED. She's one really bad girl.

CZ 85DB in 9mm luger. DA first shot.
CZ 82 in 9mm makarov. DA first shot Czech military surplus.($200)

Ruger Mk I / Mk II in 22lr both awesome autos.

I waited about three decades to purchase a pistol in 9mm luger/parabellium. I chose the only one I ever liked. You just know it was meant for you when you see it and touch it. The Czech CZ85DB is the amberdexterious version of the CZ75. The CZ75 is the choice of the Russian special ops. The DA(double action on the first shot) is a great feature to have in any auto.

I agree with that statement, but I'm prone to DAO triggers as well. I love my H&K P30 Single/Double and my Walther PPQ, PPS DAO, all 9mm.
