The other new Ruger 9mm
I have a new 9mm Ruger LCR.
Really like it.
The moon clips are nice in that they are designed to loaded and unloaded by hand without a tool.
The bottom gun below is my new LCR 9mm and the top is my 2 year old LCR 357.
Ruger wised up and the LCR 9mm comes without the internal lock.
Now I'd like to see Ruger come out with a 6 shot LCR 327 Federal. I'll buy one of those if they do.
Question: What's the best way to carry moon clips? I'm concerned about them being bent or the rounds falling out in my pocket.
Dave

Check your pill bottles, there is a common size that holds two loaded moon clips perfectly. You'll know it as soon as you see it.

Congrats!
I had one for a few weeks and really wanted to like it. I just couldn't get over lower purchase the grips force on you. I tried the bigger stock grips and boot grips, and just couldn't get comfortable with it. Middle finger (and then the rest of the hand) just rides too low due to the grip. Since you've had the .357 I'm sure it's nothing you notice.
I really, really wanted to like it. It was a pretty nice shooter.
They sell pouches you can wear on your belt for moon clips.

I did try the old 35 mm film cans.
They will hold one very nicely. Just tight enough so it doesn't jiggle around and make noise.
But most of my pill bottles have child proof caps. And I can't get them off quickly.
Some of the old pill bottles would work. I have a Pharmacist friend I'll ask about it.
Also, at the Dr's office recently I noticed that the urine sample containers looked about right.
But I'd need to get one that hasn't been used ....

I want one of those too! I think the moons will fit perfectly between your cheek and gums(if you get rid of the dip).

What's the advantage of the 9mm over a .38 spl or the .357 ?

I like the lower cost ammo and moon clips as standard.
Also, no lock.
Plus 9mm has higher muzzle energy that most 38 special rounds.
I only ever carry one gun, but others who carry 9mm pistols can use the LCR 9mm as a same caliber backup.
