9mm AR Platform Carbine
I am considering purchasing an AR platform 9mm carbine and have it narrowed down to the Colt 6951, RRA LAR9, CMMG MK9LE or the new Stag 9T AR. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with any of these carbines. Thanks, Dr.J

Build what you want ?? I built my with one using a areo precision lower and upper using there blemish items with no FA upper . My wife wanted a 9mmand is a pistol and used a greem mountain barrel and , Like RRA's TRO fft Use a cmmg bolt and a 3lb NM trigger of my choice the rest is easy.
Bought parts on sales or holidays sale no shipping sales . I was stuck at the 9mm lower adaptor and decided to try the one from promag . Darn thang works great unlike there mags !! 46 bucks rings a bell. Colt type mags and with 2000 rounds fired and zero issues were both tickled . Saved enought money to put a smile on my face too.
Built me a 5.56 carbine at the same time and note it cost 112 bucks less to build . Ammo cost if you buy is the same . Reloading is a a little more for 223 as bullets have to be jacked and run 20 bucks a thousand more . Barrels can be lower cost along with bolt and no 9mm conversion needed . Wife wanted a 9mm .
Some prices are lower now and easier to find parts now .

A long time ago I bought a Colt rifle in 9mm.
The first thing I noticed was everytime you fired it, the spring in the collapsible stock would always sound off with a loud "SPRONG!"
It was fun for awhile but it's a big rifle for a little cartridge.

FYI; if you own any Beretta 92s or 96s you might want to look at Beretta's CX-4 carbine...... for a PDW/home defense!
I like the fact I can use the same mags in both my handgun and the carbine.
Highly accurate out to 75 yds.... my "limit" on 9mm...... but will hit "targets" at 100.
For the 92 you can get factory 15-30 round magazines and mec-gar makes some nice 15-20 rds mags.
Shorter (IIRC 28-30") than a AR with the stock collapsed, light and handy.

9mm carbines
I have 20 years of experience with the Colt 9mm smg/carbine , as a duty wpn, instructing it and working on them as an armorer. I had Colt SMg's in my inventory for two decades and they were great guns. From an instructor's standpoint, they were accurate & had basically the same manual of arms as the M-4 which I instructed also. From an armorer's standpoint, they ran well, and were durable. They IMO are a great firearm, in a carbine version one would serve you well.
I also have a RRA 9mm AR as one of my designated "house guns".
I have run several thousand rds thru it and it is accurate and very reliable....I run mine with an EO tech 552 optic and use metal form mags ( which is the best 9mm AR mag IMO).
Colt or RRA will serve you well.
