STI Lawman 4.0
In 1973 I had F. Bob Chow build an accurized Combat Commander 1911 for me. I had a little rough period in my business in 1978 and had to sell the gun. Always wanted to replace it. Finally ordered and received a STI Lawman 4.0 this past Saturday. Took it to the range and started feeding it everything I had in my locker. Military ball, self defense and light bullseye target loads. I couldn't believe this gun as it functioned perfectly with everything, even mouse level target loads. Not one malfunction in over 100 rounds. So I put out a target and sandbagged the gun with some of my 1911 target loads. I guess you can call this a shooter. I hadn't even adjusted the sights yet. This was at 50 feet as I can't shoot 25 yards anymore, freehand, I shake too much.

Congrats on your new "Commander" -- STI builds a heckuva 1911.
Nice shooting, too. Enjoy.

I too have become an STI fan. I think they have a number of models that deliver a lot for the dollar. Does that model have the recoil master in it?

Congrats and nice shooting.
I know it's just another 1911 but you do know we love gun pictures. (hint, hint)

Those STI's are excellent pistols. I have a Tactical 5.0 that's been around the block a few times and other than an upgrade to the recoil master spring setup, it's just purring right along. I even used it as a duty pistol for a bit - getting the hankering to go back to it.
Congrats on getting yourself a "shooter"!

Yes, it has the recoil master. I even bought a bag of light springs figuring I would need them for my target loads. Nope, The heavy spring works just fine. For those not familiar, the recoil master is a double spring setup around the guide rod.
Photo's a little later this morning.
