Default Gun show Colt

I bought a Colt officers model and holster at the Tulsa show
last Sat. I'll show Moma's first target standing at 12yds.
I'll have to do these one at a time with this I-pad. I gave 5
for the Colt and 20 for the holster. Where you at Guy.

Colt prices being what they are, the Officers Model is probably the best thing going now. Same action as the Python, and they can still be found in good condition at reasonable prices.

I paid a shiny penny for mine but it's probably 98% condition.

LOVE those checkered, diamond stocks! Here's my gun show find, 1927 Officers Model Target.

O/K, I have to admit I own one also, but a few years ago I did a side by side shoot between this and a K38 Masterpiece. An even draw.

My Tulsa Wanenmacher gun show find is a New Service in .38 Special. Serial number dates it to around 1935. It appears someone modified the hammer to a "cockeyed" one in the King style, with less elegant results than King. They also added a brass bead to the front sight, again less than elegant. There's an odd hole through the side of the front sight, plugged with something (wood?) Not as crispy as some of the other guns posted in this thread but the gun seems solid, although the timing is off.

Click on the pics for a larger version.

Grips are not vintage but I think are more or less the proper style. There is a plugged lanyard hole, and the name "C D Trexler" is scribed on the side of the grip frame. There is also "Trex" scribed on the frame, just above the front of the trigger guard. A quick Google doesn't produce any results for C D Trexler that seem to relate to this gun, or gunsmithing.
