Default IWB Fixed Blade Sheath

I would like to find IWB sheaths for the knives in the attached photos. Anybody have good suggestions? I've found a few places online, but wouldn't mind hearing some first hand experiences.

The stainless is made by Lon Humphrey. It unfortunately has a bit of corrosion from sitting in my safe (though stainless wasn't supposed to do that?!). I need to deal with that. It is a 4 1/4" Blade. The Damascus was a gift, and I don't know who made it. It is a 3 1/2" blade. I'll have to get in touch with the person who gave it to me. I'm not really in the knife world.

Thanks for you suggestions!

Don't know where you live but an IWB may be illegal for knives. Double check, especially on knives over 3".

In Kentucky, my CCDW includes concealed fixed blades over 3 1/2". I spend half of my time in Ohio though. Concealed blades are not legal as far as I know, regardless of whether or not the carrier has a concealed handgun license. You can however carry an unconcealed blade for utility purposes. I will of course confirm one way or the other, and not carry it outside of Kentucky in the meantime.

Another option would be a shoulder holster. Galco holsters can be adapted to sheath knives.

I've been getting all my leather sheaths from Dwayne Puckett, Armoralleather, for years.

I have half a dozen IWB's like this one. I have them made as lefties, then use them IWB on the right with the clip on the outside.

I don't care for Kydex sheaths or holsters; but if I were going to carry a fixed-blade knife IWB to use as a cutting tool, unsheathing and sheathing it, I'd prefer the rigidity of Kydex. But it's late and perhaps I'm being obtuse.

If your plan is to carry it as a concealed weapon, it doesn't matter--replacing it in the sheath would be the least of your worries. Personally I carry knives to cut stuff with, and a gun for self defense.

Default Knives IWB

I have several fixed blade knives that I had IWB sheaths made for, ranging from paring knife size to Bowies. I went the kydex route. Primarily because they are impervious to sweat and moisture. they are easy to make ( a lot less labor intensive than leather) for whatever knife/blade config you have, you can set them up with the various loops, snaps, clips, snap-locs, etc. for whatever carry mode you want. And they are easy to adjust for whatever position you want. As pointed out in the above post, they are also rigid which facilitates in deployment and resheathing. There are plenty of kydex sheath makers out there, my weekly shooting partner is into making Kydex projects and he makes mine to order.

Pretty slick. I'll look into them. I like the lefty/IWB idea.

They would ostensibly be used for self defense when not carrying a handgun, but more just because I have these really nice knives that don't leave the house because I have no way of carrying them.
